I wrote this poem after I got into my first choice university, hence it being genuinely hopeful
Today I'm going to try
To look in the mirror and really meet my eyes
Today I'm going to try
To love all of the strange things that I feel inside
Today I'm going to name
All the broken pieces I hold inside my frame
Today I'm going to name
The possibilities if I don't stay the same
Today I'm going to see
The things that I can do and words that set me free
Today I'm going to see
How hard it really is to learn just how to be
Today I'm going to find
Some kind of beauty in the things I leave behind
Today I'm going to find
A place in the world for the stories in my mind
