Nassau, Bahamas 👆👆

A chapter in Nassau. God, am I feeling international today. Must be all that Outer Banks I've been watching lately.

How many languages so you speak?

Mine are three, English included.

If someone had told me that this is how I would be spending my day, I would have cussed them out, cause this was not on my agenda completely. Hell, this had never even crossed my mind on possible events.

Ryan had deemed it fit that we travel in his private jet since he had one like every other billionaire on the freaking planet. This would have been just fine, except the fact that there were two couples- well, two friends and one couple- who clearly had beef with each other, seating in the jet togethe. Let me explain further.

The original plan was we would travel in separate cars. I would ride with Ajax in the car he came with, Wren would ride with Sabrina and mom and Ryan together. This was mom's idea. She hid her motives saying driving separately would have helped with all the individual luggage. Everyone was in favour of this except Ryan who just had to take the easier way out. And God knows no one would ever say no to a private jet,  especially blondie.

So here we were, Ajax and I seated together opposite Wren who had his arm wrapped around blondie. Since Ajax and I weren't a couple, we were the only ones not wrapped in each other's arms being all lovey dovey and shit. Mom was practically all over Ryan and Wren took any opportunity to rub his girlfriend in my face.

Ajax and I had been sitting silently. I was watching the clouds and ground as we got further and further from it. I hadn't bothered talking to him cause what the heck was I supposed to say? He on the other hand seemed to want a conversation. Probably to reduce the awkward silence between us.

"Does he always travel with his private jet?" He asked indicating that he was talking about Ryan.

I looked at Ryan who was talking to one of the staff in the jet, probably asking for champagne or something. He was still holding mom's hand ever so firmly as if scared she would fall off the jet at any minute if he didn't.

"Only when he's traveling to other countries. You know, billionaire shit." I looked at Ajax as he shook his head.

"Actually, I don't know. Did you forget I'm not a stuck-up billionaire?" I almost burst out laughing. If he didn't close my mouth with his hand, I most definitely would have. When I had composed myself I continued the conversation he had started.

"Well, lucky you then. I wonder how mom fooled this one." I looked at the two and almost puked at their disgusting cuteness.

"I don't think she did. They look like they genuinely love each other. I mean I've never seen your mom this happy."

I watched the two and the nausea disappeared with Ajax's words. She really did seem happy. Like really, really happy. All this time I had been thinking about myself and how I didn't like this arrangement, how I didn't want mom to get married yet again. I had not taken the time to consider mom's feelings and if she actually loved Ryan.

Sure this may have started as a ploy for mom to be secured with money. And she was very pretty, especially for her age, so that had been easy. But somewhere along the path I think she may have actually fallen for Ryan. And thanks to Ajax words, I acknowledged all this.

I looked back at Ajax, a grateful smile on my face. He was still watching the two in front of us with a smile as their champagne was brought. His eyes were glistening with happiness and something else, something that seemed a little like sadness. His smile gradually faded as he continued staring at them. My hand found its way to his all on its own without me even realising it.
