Jim's eyes cracked open to a pounding headache, pain throbbing through every part of his body. He groaned, wincing as he touched his face, fingers tracing bruises and cuts he didn't remember getting.

"Reggie...? That you?" he mumbled, squinting at the figure in front of him.

"Who the fuck else would it be?" Reggie shot back, flipping through Jim's notebook with a smirk. "Relax-you're not dead. Not yet, anyway."

Jim shifted, stretching through the pain, managing to sit up. Reggie continued leafing through the notebook.

"It's not bad, you know," Reggie commented, eyes scanning the pages.

"Give me that," Jim demanded, still shivering as he reached for the notebook.

Reggie tossed it at him, hard. "If you like this girl, maybe tell her, instead of filling this crappy notebook with your obsessive thoughts."

"Shut up," Jim shot back, clutching the notebook tightly.

Reggie grinned. "It's that sweet girl who walks her dog in Manhattan, right? You should tell her how you feel. instead of staring at her not being able to shoot a decent hoop."

Jim's face hardened. "She knows I love her."

"Oh, love her, do you?" Reggie sneered. "Does she know you've got an addiction problem?"

Jim ignored him, glancing down at the drenched notebook. "Why is it wet?"

"'Cause you pissed on it," Reggie replied nonchalantly, wiping his hands with a tissue.

Jim folded the notebook, stuffing it into his pocket. "I didn't say you could read that. Have you been going through my stuff?"

He glanced around, his eyes searching. "Where's my jacket?" he muttered, stumbling to his feet.
