"Teri street" she said in thought "Ok. Do one thing. Do this; stop by and greet Mrs Davis and then come home"
"Sure Mom" she'd cut the call before I said that

"Mandy to Mrs Davis' then Mom's"
She nodded and started reversing as I struggled to handle my headache as it seemed my head was falling apart. Infact not only my head but my heart also.

Enrique's POV
I was still mad at Cherry for messing up my night at my friend's gala yesterday and before my dad could call me and suggest an alliance I broke up with her over the phone. I know I know that's not done but I also know that she doesn't deserve any of my courtesy. After all her yelling turns out she reported me to Dad and he insisted we talk tonight at home. She's got to be kidding me. 😅😅😒😒

"Dad she did a lot. She even told everyone on stage that we're married"
"Well that's not an over exaggeration since we see a marriage in the nearest future."
"I don't see it ok Dad? Dad anyone but her please"
"Anyone??"

I knew I was making a huge mistake by leaving my life in Dad's hands ah mean marriage was a serious thing but Cherry?? Cherry was a no no. And after telling him everything Cherry did I knew he wouldn't agree. But that would have to be when we talk tonight. So yes anyone.
"Yes Dad anyone but Cherry"
"It's settled Enrique. Come home tonight then you'll see"
I rolled my eyes and dropped the call as I spinned on my office chair thinking about my life. Parents and arranged marriages are 5&6 really.

Mrs Davis called to reschedule her meeting for today at home as she wasn't feeling so good. Normally I wouldn't do that for anyone as I tried to avoided overfamilarity but today?? Today I badly needed to leave this office so I agreed and left.
On my way there I got her a basket of fruits as a gentleman I guess. More of I can't go to a person's house empty handed sort of thing. (I even did it to my rivals'!)

"Mrs Davis Mr Enrique is here" Her help informed her
Then she came assisted by a lady looking so so exhausted yet so so lovely.
"Enrique" I bent to greet her "Fruits fit for a queen" I handed it over to a different help
"Bless you child." She said and I nodded
"Are you sure you're ok?? We can always reschedule"
"Ahh no dear we can work over here in the sitting room"
I nodded

"Ma'am I'll take my leave. My mother sends her greetings" The lovely girl said
"Leilani stay for dinner dear" Leilani?? Nice!
"I'm sorry I can't. Mom's waiting" The old woman nodded in understanding.
"Send my regards to your mother" she said.
"I will" she said grabbing her bag exhaustedly "It was nice to see you again Mrs Davis" she said bending for greetings.
Then she straightened up
"You too Mr. Enrique."
"The pleasure's all mine Leilani. I would like to see you again and hopefully we'll get the chance to talk. For now you should get some rest."

Her eyes brightened like I was the first to tell her to get some rest
"I will. Goodbye." I kept staring at the door even after she left.
"Mr Enrique; the meeting" I nodded and followed a different help who just spoke to me to where Mrs Davis sat waiting for me.
Then we began the meeting.

Makiri's POV
I was literally in tears as I straightened the 5th dress in my room mirror. Turns out while I was running away Nimi was shopping for dresses for me and they actually fit! For once in a very long while I felt beautiful and hugged her in tears.
"Thank you!!"
"Oh Itz nothing. You deserve it and even better."
I was about to reply when my phone vibrated indicating an incoming call.

I held the phone and began hyperventilating
"It's Mum" She gave me the go-ahead signal so I breathed and took the bold step
"Mum Good evening please bless me"
"Mtchewwwwwwwwwwwwww" she sighed and kept mute as she continued
"Come to my house now" I kept mute till I was sure she had nothing else to say
"I'll be home in a few hours Mom"
"I've told you Makiri severally you have to call me 'Mom' so you never forget all I do for you but never ever call my house your home. THAT'S....... JUST......... Disgusting!!!!Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" 
I nodded "My apologies Mum. I'll be at your house soon". She cut the call and I collapsed on the bed.

"I'll help you get ready" Nimi offered.
"No you spent all day with me. You should go home"
Nimi has a husband and a kid but still she makes out time to spend with me. It somehow makes me feel bad. But Anthony is very very understanding and very very busy. I made a mental note to thank him soon.
I stood up and held her hands

"You should go. Idara must be looking for you"
"Makiri I have maids for a reason"
"What about your businesses and meetings?? You can't keep rescheduling just to meet my needs ok?? So please go I'll get ready"
She looked like she was contemplating it
"I know you want to stay and believe me I do to buh maybe later this week or next week ok?? You have a life outside being a friend. A very very busy life and I'm grateful that you choose to squeeze out as much as a day for me but still I don't deserve it"
"Don't say that you're my friend ok and anyday, anytime as often as I can I'll stand physically with you ok....."
I nodded the she said
"Fine I'll leave but call me if anything comes up ok??"
I nodded "I will ok??" I walked her to her car and watched her leave. When I was sure she had gone I let the tears fall and got back to begin my prepping.

TONIGHT IS GONNA BE ONE OF THOSE NIGHTS!!!
And I don't mean it in the good way.
