"Mum please". Luke begged. "I love her. I cant let this war- you are sending away joff and little Egg and Vis because you want to protect them. Let me take Seraphina and the children and protect them. Keep them safe!" Luke begged. "I cant fight in this war knowing they are in danger."

"Luke... luke..." seras voice met his ears and he stopped thrashing. He shot up his head hitting hers. "Ow." she whispered.

"Seraphina!'

"Hey." She answered kissing him. "I'm right here."

"I had a dream you left without me and i was fighting in a war." LUke admitted. "It was awful."

"I'm right here."  Sera glanced at the horizon. "And we are almost there. Rest my sweet Lucerys." she requested.

He sat up leaning into sera. Rhaena and him had come to an understanding that their union would never come to pass because he was in love with seraphina. She didn't mind she didn't care for boys. She just wanted a dragon of her own.

" Are we almost there yet?" Robert asked for the millionth time.

" yes my love." Sera cooed kissing the top of his head. Joffrey stared back at her. " you're being awfully brave, Joff." he nodded. " I'm very very proud of you and I know your mother is very proud of you as well. We're going to get safe."

" you promise?" Joffrey asked.

" I promise." Sera agreed. " look, here we are."

"Over the centuries, many and more armies have broken themselves against my bloody gate." Jeyne royce remarked. "Are you listening?"

"My lady." Rhaena answered when seraphina tossed a toy building block at her leg.

"The Eyrie itself is impregnable. Unless, of course, we're descended upon from the sky."

" I feel anything is threatened from dragons coming down from them from above." Sera confirmed.

" yes my queen."

" I'm not the queen."

" your husband sits the throne."

" and I would prefer if you don't call him my husband." Sera added. " we appreciate your kindness and generosity and letting us stay here before we head on our way. But you should remember who the real queen is and that the unfortunate man that I married is not the king. He is the traitor here."

" so be it..." she sighed.

" You promised the Queen Rhaenyra 15,000 swords..." rhaena recalled.

"In return for protection. A dragon." Jeyne agreed. She looked between them skeptically. There was no dragon. Why should she hold up her under the bargain?

"Then she has exceeded your terms. She sent two." Rhaena agreed. Jeyne laughed, looking at the little fledglings they could barely fly let alone protect.

"Both still wet from the egg." Jeyne hissed. "I have hunting hounds that are more fearsome." She turned her attention to Luke. He wanted to be brave, but he was more loving than the ferocious warrior.

" my dragon was needed for combat. I offered him up to you, but in the meantime... my mother, the queen said these would have to do." Luke answered braver than he felt.

"They are dragons nonetheless. I do not recall you specifying the size of the beast in your request." Sera recalled. " but do forgive me. I wasn't keen on all of the arrangements..."

"Will you goad me, child?" Jeyne questioned. "When your bread and shelter now depend on my pleasure?"

"The dragons will grow..." Rhaena whispered. " in time."

"I don't have time." Jeyne corrected. "I mislike feeling powerless."

"So do I." Sera shouted. Jeyne hesitated. " the man that sits the throne right now wants to steal me back. wants to put me and my children in the castle as a hostage he wants to hold me down on the bed and me his pleasure because he is the king and that is his right because we were married... I hated every second of being there because he treated me like I was nothing. Like I was powerless." Sera demanded. " So yes, well we sit here and eat your bread and enjoy your shelter. We are grateful but we are not foolish enough to believe you're doing this out of the goodness of your heart. But do not think that will be pushed around because we need you temporarily. Know that you need us more than we need you." Jeyne hesitated

''This will be your chamber Rhaena. Next door one for the prince and the next will be for the loud mouth queen." Jeyne decided.

" much obliged, " sera answered.

"I'll expect you at supper this evening?" Jeyne said heading to the door before turning back to rhaena and luke. "My sympathies for the death of your grandmother."

" we were sort of interrupted before." Luke said once the kids were settled into bed. Unfortunately, all the kids were piled into their mother's bed.

" oh you mean before?"

" yeah before." Luke agreed kissing her.

" once we sail across the narrow sea, we will have all the time in the world," sera assured laying on her side to face him.

" what do you think it will be like?"

" probably a lot like here." she realized. "Pentos has prince reggio so I'm assuming he thinks himself of God. I don't know that we should go there."

" why not? My mother said that's where we should go."

" too many people know that's where we would be going. Danger comes looking for us. They will already know where we are. It won't be a safe zone. I would be worried that we would be sitting ducks."

" then where else should we go?" Luke asked.

" I don't know." she admitted. She wished she had all the answers for him. For the children. For his little brothers. For herself even. " I guess we have all the way across the narrow sea to figure it out."

She leaned closer closing the distance between them her lips touched his as he wrapped an arm around her her waist.

" I can't wait to wake up next to every day for the rest of my life." he whispered before closing his eyes. That sounded like the most amazing thing ever. She couldn't wait for that too.
