Y/n was back home. Relief washed over them for a second before a sense of unease set over them. Something was wrong, this wasn't real..was it?

"Hello?"
They called out, confusion laced their tone.
"Is anyone home?"
That was a dumb question and Y/n knew that. They lived alone yet they still called out for someone. Being alone was a huge fear for them, having Ford around had helped, yet now there was no one again. An eerie silence filled the room. Thinking about it, it didn't look like any room they've been in. Walking around the room they found really nothing. It was an empty room with only a door.
'Wasn't there other stuff in here?'
They couldn't remember if there was, but they felt like there should've been. Walking towards the door a muffled sound was heard, the closer they got to the door the louder it became. It wasn't intelligible in the slightest, as the door opened everything went black.

1978 - Winter, 12:54pm

Y/n jolted awake, their heart was pounding in their chest and their body was covered in sweat. They don't remember what in their dream could've caused this, but they focused on calming down first.

'Breath..it was just a dream..'
Y/n had to remind themself this every time they had a nightmare or else they couldn't calm down. Their breathing grew calmer as their body relaxed. In doing so they checked the time on their phone.
'I should get my sleep schedule fixed.'
They scoffed getting of the bed, opening the door to their bedroom no one was there. It was oddly quiet in the house. They walked downstairs to nothing. There was a note dangling from the front door. Picking it up it read,

| I'll be out for a bit! There's food in the fridge if you get hungry, I should be back later tonight. This is very Important, I apologize for leaving without telling you earlier. |

Y/n let out a small sigh of relief, if Ford wasn't here then they could collect their thoughts, maybe explore? A smile started to grow on their face.

'Since Ford's out I could actully do something fun!'
They haven't been able to really explore the house, for one if Ford found them snooping in places they weren't supposed to be they dont know what'll happen. But since no ones here, it's free range.
'Where should I...?'
Y/n looked around them trying to find anywhere that would catch their eye, they walked into the living room to hopefully find something else interesting. Yet they found nothing new, not surprising since this is where they've looked the most.

Ford lied a little with the note he left. He was actually in the basement working on the portal. He had brought the time machine with him downstairs to work on with any down time he had. Yet he hadn't found any, while working on another equation he felt Bill's presence.

"Happy now?"
He asked, his gaze focused on the equation he was still working on. Bill didn't say anything, he took a glance at the equation Ford was working on, he snickered.
"What?"
Ford looked towards Bill with a confused look.

"You just need to carry the three here."
He pointed to the three as he dragged his finger to the top of the equation. Ford did what he said and it was solved.
"You're the nerd here, yet I'm still solving all the math for you huh?"
He poked at Ford with a light laugh.

"Sorry, it's just..."
He trialed of for a moment, he sighed instead of telling the truth.
"I don't know. I'm-"

"Distracted?"
Bill interrupted him. Ford rolled his eyes, he didn't protest, he knew he was right.
"Sixer this is the main priority for you."
He motioned towards the portal.
"Not some silly human."
He waved his hand while rolling his eye. His gaze went back to Ford seeing him stuck in thought. He sighed again.
"Whats so special about them? I've never seen you like this. Not even towards me!"
He floated towards Ford, he loved testing him, but right now it didn't seem to get to him. Bill wasn't having fun.

"I-I don't know! That's what's distracting me!"
Ford groaned, his face now buried in his hands. Bill perked up hearing that, he was interested now.
"It feels like... I don't know how to explain it.."
His hands dragged down his face, now resting on his forehead.
"Everytime I'm near them I get this weird feeling in my gut,"
He looked to Bill while messaging his temples. Bill was listening, this was rare to see.
"I don't know, it's confusing."

"The faster you get them home the faster that feeling will go away."
He suggested, hinting at the fact that he wants them gone as soon as possible.

"You want me to work on the portal, and then you want me to help them get home? I can't work on two different projects that are this big!"
Ford complained, another groan left his throat as he swivels back to face his desk.
"I physically can't work on both."
He mumbled under his breath as he moved the portal stuff out of the way and brought the time machine closer.
"I could get this fixed within a week if I only focus on this, but with you wanting me to do both I just-"
He sighed. His voice sounding exhausted from everything.

"Well I want them gone. So if you need to spend more time on that thing then go ahead."
That's a first, Bill letting Ford have a choice was rare. Ford was a little surprised by the shift.

"What are you getting out of this? You only let me do something else if it benefits you."
Ford began as he picked up the device, he had almost figured out what he needed to do. He was lying a lot more these days. He could get this done within a couple days when he figures out what he needs to do to fix it. He just needed
Y/n here a little longer to figure out why they make him feel this way.

"You're getting rid of that distraction."
