I stirred awake slowly. I looked around the room. I was in the soldiers' camp I knew it. I was in the place in Aiden's dream. Where they tortured him and me. I was chained. I was still wearing my bracelet. I walked out of the room. Surprised that they didn't tie my feet. I saw Aiden on his knees. In front of people I don't know. I broke the chains easily. I ran over to him and took the whip to my face. I stumbled to the ground. I looked behind me to see him looking up at me. I then look at the man with the whip. I felt the whip burn heal. I knew there was no longer evidence of it on my face. I stood up protecting what is mine.

"What is this?" The voice boomed. "Aiden, who is this?"

Aiden didn't answer. He didn't even look at him. The man tries to whip him again but I grabbed it. Tore it from his grasp.

"You don't get to hurt him." I said defensively.

I felt the void pull me down to Aiden. I cupped his face in my hands. He looked up at me. No expression in his eyes. But I could feel it. I rested me forehead against his.

"What did they do to you?" I asked whispering.

The man behind me just observed. I knew where everyone was. I had to. I needed to. In order to protect him.

"I'm okay." He said his voice weak.

"Aiden, what did they do to you?" I asked again.

"Nova, go." Aiden whispered. "Please, I can't have them hurt you. Go while you can."

I felt his voice break. I felt every hope he had leave him. I grabbed the chains around his wrists and pulled. They didn't budge. I felt the darkness on the tips of my fingers. These chains were made for soldiers. I took a deep breath. I felt the fire glide across my skin. I felt the fire burn inside my chest. I felt my wings unfold from in my back. I let them be released. I felt my angel form become unbound. I saw confusion. I felt it. I knew it would disappear quickly. But I saw the surprise of the man trying to hurt mine. I looked at him with nothing but anger. I looked back at Aiden and ripped the chains off. One pull is all I needed. I grabbed him and lifted him up. I pulled his arm around my shoulder.

"I can't leave Nova." Aiden said broken.

"Then we stay. Stay until Zagen is dead. Stay until Jason and Nick come." I answer.

"You don't get it." Aiden said dryly. "I have to stay."

I shook my head.

"Aiden, you are going to be by my side. We are going to go together. I won't leave you." I said trying to get him to come back to me.

Aiden looked at me sadly. Breaking my heart.

"Nova, my love. I won't be allowed to leave. I am bound here. You can be free." Aiden said with a sigh.

I saw Zagen walking up to us in the distance. My determination never faulted.

"My life isn't important without you." I answer. "I may as well die with you. You want to lose hope. Fine we'll do it together. I am nothing without you."

"You have the void." Aiden started to say.

"No, Aiden the void is nothing without you. My life is nothing without you. I love you. Only you. I am not leaving you here. If I do, I may as well die. I may as well give up. I may as well give Abelia what she wants. Make everyone fight a war without us. You and I is what gets us through things. How am I meant to kill her without you? I did this because of you. I sacrificed everything I knew. Because of you. Because you are worth it. I will sacrifice my life for you. I was never loved until you. You can't expect me to leave. To leave the most important person in my life behind." I said feeling slightly angry. "I would do anything for you. What happened to the Aiden I knew? The Aiden who stood up for what he believed in. The Aiden who was determined. The Aiden who wanted to be with me."
