I pace around my bedroom. Shadow's eyes never once leaving me. Neir was sitting on my bed. Both watching me. I fiddle with my necklace. Trying to think. Or maybe to calm myself. I heard footsteps at my door. But I knew whose it was. Or who they were. I heard another set of footsteps. One that automatically made my heartbeat sync with his. I heard him say something to them before he opened the door. As he walked in, he looked confused at Neir.

"I don't think you're meant to be here." Aiden said.

"I'm not." Neir said with a smile. "But I wanted to be."

Aiden smiled back at him. Blaze and Raine entered the room. They both looked confused at who Neir was.

"My father." I said answering their silent questions.

They both nodded their heads and Blaze closed the door.

"What are you doing here Neir?" Aiden asks.

"I felt a call from the void to be here." Neir answers.

"Wait so how are you her father? I knew her parents and you weren't one of them." Blaze interrogated.

"I'm her actual father Blaze. The one in her past life and in this one. I helped create her, but she didn't come from her mother and I." Neir answered.

"So, like a donor?" Raine asked.

"More like her DNA stayed the same and was just brought into this world from a carrier. So, in this case a women's womb." Neir replied.

"Like all of us." I answered. "We all have the same DNA as our previous selves. But just because we have the same DNA it doesn't make us them. Quite frankly we are more of who we are meant to be."

"I mean we were resurrected." Blaze said with a smile. "Even though I still don't remember my past life."

"If you have a seat at the table of dark then you will." Neir responded.

"Who does have a seat at the table of dark?" Raine asked me.

"All I know so far is that Asra, Sila Neir, Donovin, Azrael, Jason, Aiden and I." I answered. "That's all the void has told me so far."

"Wait what." Aiden said confused. "Since when did I have a seat at the table of dark?"

"I only found out today." I answer. "But I say you've always had a seat. If I'm the void of darkness, then I need my light. I need mine."

"This is something new." Neir said fascinated. "I did notice the void added two extra seats. One next to the head of the table and one on the side close to the head of the table."

"How do you know if you are going to be a part of the void?" Blaze asked.

"You don't. Not yet anyway. The deadly shadows decide whose worthy. The void collects souls. The souls they collect are ones they have observed and decided are worthy for a seat at the table of dark. That's what the void has told me anyway." I answer.

"How does it judge us?" Raine questioned. "I mean it needs to have a judging system, right?"

"It doesn't judge us." I laugh. "It observes. It sees your worth even if you can't see it yourself. They have a collective mind which joins together for these decisions. But I have a feeling that it's choosing people who are close to me. Observing them to see if they are truly worthy to be by my side."

Raine nodded in understanding.

"Do you think I'll get a seat?" Blaze asked. "I mean I have been by your side the moment I met you. We also got into a lot of mischief together."
