Becky's POV:
I paced across the Armstrong mansion's foyer, concern etched on my face.
Freen's panic attack still haunted me.
Nita's name triggered Freen's fear.
How could my friend unknowingly hurt my love?
I didn't notice my dad, Richard, and brother, Richie, watching me.
"Becky, what's wrong?" Richie asked, concern etched on his face.
I halted, turning to face them.
"Dad, Richie... it's Freen. She panics whenever Nita's mentioned."
Richard's expression turned thoughtful.
"Becky, I knew Freen was special to you. Even when you didn't say it."
My eyes widened.
"You knew?"
Richard nodded.
"College, Becky. Your drinking started then. You never said why, but I saw the pain in your eyes. I searched for the one who hurt you... and the one who could heal you."
Richie's brow furrowed.
"You found Freen?"
Richard's voice filled with emotion.
"Yes. I discovered Freen was the one you loved in college. The one you lost."
Tears welled in my eyes.
"Dad, how did you know?"
Richard's smile was gentle.
"A father knows, Becky. I brought Freen into your life, hoping she'd bring you peace."
I gasped.
"You made me her intern on purpose?"
Richard nodded.
"I hoped Freen would help you heal, Becky. But I never knew about Nita's connection to her."
Richard's expression turned thoughtful.
"Perhaps Freen's past is more complicated than we thought."
Richie's face darkened.
"Saint will uncover everything. We'll protect Freen."
Richard's eyes locked onto mine.
"Becky, we'll support you and Freen through this. Together."
"I'm still confused about Nita's motives. She used to bully me, but Freen intervened. Later, Nita became my friend when Freen disappeared. Why is she now affecting Freen so deeply?"
