SPENCER

The flight back to Quantico was peaceful. The plane was sleeping while I was sitting at a table in the back reading a book. Why can't every case finish like this? The overwhelming feeling that you did something right. You saved a family from lying in the morgue. But I didn't save everyone. There were still twenty-two people resting in some coffins, the ones I couldn't save. Some times I just wonder if doing this job is worth it. Maybe Gideon was right in leaving. Maybe I should to.

"Get started on some paperwork, I need them in by tonight." Hotch told us once we arrived

Everyone scoffed, heading to their desk. Paperwork is boring, yes, but it's relaxing. You don't have to do any chasing or thinking, just writing. Once I settled at my desk my eyes caught Sofia's figure entering Hotch's office. Right. She doesn't work with us. I attempted to keep my mind on the papers in front of me but it went wondering.

"She's good" Emily's voice intruded my thoughts.

"What?"

"I said she's good. She did an excellent job on this case. I think she should join the team. She has the skills and the brains." She repeated with a slight smile.

"I don't know. Can't say she isn't good but-"

"Come on Reid. You afraid of some competition."

Before I could add anything we turned our heads to see Sofia coming out of the office.

"I'll have the paperwork handed in by tomorrow. It was an honor working with you, I hope to meet again under better circumstances." She said, exiting the Glass doors of the BAU unit.

I swear she looked at me.

I turned around to see Hotch gesturing for the round table room. Already another case? We landed only three hour ago. Derek called Penelope and when she took a seat, he began to speak.

"What do you think about Sofia?" he asked, stoic expression as always.

"She did good. Not only in the chemistry part. She elaborated a good profile." Morgan reflected, earning agreements from all of the team.

"I wanted to consult you before asking her transfer to our unit. She'd be a valuable addition to the team. Rossi, what do you say?"

"I can tell you she worked her ass of for years to get where she is. Top in her field. If you decide to add her to the team, she will give you her best performance until her last day."

"Very well. One thing. Who will be her supervisory agent?"Hotch asked.

I looked around to see all hands raised. Was she an extremely rare book that they all wanted? My hands were interlinked under the table. I still couldn't shake off the sensation of annoyance I had against her person.

"Reid. You'll assist her during her fists two months in training."

"Wh-why? I didn't volunteer. Give her to Emily, she seems quite interested."

Why? Why me? what did I do wrong?

"Stop objecting. Emily, call Hector. Tell him we need a new desk next to Reid's. Now, everyone go back to what you need to do. Reid, a word."

Hotch got up and went straight to his office, where I followed him.

"Spencer, I don't care whatever beef you two had. You need to get along with her, whether you like it or not. Got it?" he asked me.

"Yes, sir." Trying to hide the spit in my tone.

And with that, I went back to my desk.

"Yo, kid. You got the chance to stick by your future wife. How cool is that?" he laughed. "You know that Garcia talks. Care to explain why you and Sofia were in our room. Together. That late. Without me."

"What are you talking about? I didn't know that. Spencer, spit it!" exclaimed Emily, raising her head from the desk.
