I SMILE OVER AT MY SISTER BEFORE proceeding towards the Lockwood property. Tyler and his mom meets me at the door greeting me with a genuine smile."Oh god, how long has it been?" Carol gushes.
We insert the memory of a familiar face in the late mayor's wife's head. Even if she has never met the two of us a day in her life.
"Ages." I smile wrapping her in a hug, Ivonna following suit.
Giving my sister a side glance, I smile. Finding it convenient to screw with people's minds. I guess being something no one thought was possible has its perks.
"We're sorry for your lost." Ivonna speaks for the both of us.
"Thank you for coming." Tyler says.
I shoot him a smile and slip pass the two of them. I can feel Ivonna's eyes land on them, and I regret even coming. However, I'd very much prefer them over the Mikaelsons — less messy, and I'm not only talking about feelings. She takes two champagne glasses, sitting down with them and folding one leg over the other as I do the same. She hands a glass to me watching them like they are prey and when he finally walks towards us, she smirks. He stands in front of us, I stand first feeling threatened with someone towering over me. Ivonna gulps down the rest of her drink and sets it aside before standing. She smirks harder as the other two join us like she enjoys their presence — and maybe she does.
"Salvatore's. Elena." I greet.
"It's nice to run into you again." Ivonna smiles.
"Yes." Stefan replies, looking at my sister.
"Why are you here?" Damon glares.
"You were much nicer back in 1864, Katerina really did a number on you." I excuse myself from the group and make my way towards Mayor Lockwood's office.
Ivonna somehow keeps up a conversation with them, distracting them from coming after me or maybe that's just the witch side of her or even her compelling ability. I mean it wasn't too hard since us Petrovich's and Salvatore's have a past. It's not very hard to find the late Mayor's office, and I search for any cameras. I look down at the floor, spotting the carpet and make my way towards the top right corner. Voices sound outside the door and I step away from the carpet, admiring the pictures.
Footsteps pass across the doorway but I'm too lost in the photographs to proceed my search. A black and white photograph sits in the space on the wall near the door. It looks ages old and I can tell it is when I see the year 1873 etched in the bottom left corner. I quickly lose interest in the old photograph, but continue to scan the walls. I can't seem to remember where Ivonna and I were back then. Most likely in Rome — the further from New Orleans, the less my heart hurt.
"What are you doing in here?" Tyler asks, interrupting my thoughts.
"Just reminiscing on old memories. I see your Uncle Mason is back in town, I should go say hi." I walk pass him before he has a chance to say another word.
The picture brings back so many memories and so much pain. Thinking about any of the years between 1730 and 1880 only brought me a migraine. Ivonna grabs my forearm with enough strength to break the bone, and I'm surprise it actually didn't. I clench my teeth at the pain, though I'm thankful that it clears my mind. I grab another champagne glass, making my way towards the double doors and sip lightly. I stand on the last step, taking a look around at the Lockwood property. I spot my car, pointing my keys towards it to unlock it from a far until a voice stops me. I keep my back to the voice, imagining the conversation we'll have in my head. It won't be as fun as the one I'll maybe have with — never mind.
