When I woke up, I was in an unfamiliar, dark room. My wrists and ankles were tied tightly to the chair, preventing me from moving.

The feeling of restraint sent a chill down my spine, and I struggled against the ropes, but they wouldn't budge.

Then, in the dim light, I saw him-Zack. He stood there with a smug look on his face, as if he thought he ruled the world. I felt a wave of disgust as he looked at me, clearly pleased with himself.

"Aiah," he sneered, his voice dripping with arrogance. "Did you really think you could be with someone like Matilda? You're both living a lie."

Anger boiled within me. I wanted to wipe that smirk off his face, but my hands were bound. I strained against the ropes, desperate to free myself, but it was useless.

"If only you knew how ridiculous you look right now," I spat back, glaring at him. "You think you can control everyone, but you're just a coward."

He laughed, unaffected. "Believe what you want, but soon, you'll understand how powerless you really are."

I tried to lunge forward, to do anything to wipe that look off his face, but the ropes held firm, and all I could do was sit there, feeling trapped and furious.

Zack leaned in closer, his smirk even more sinister. "You know, Matilda... or should I say Mikha?" he sneered, savoring each word as if it was a twisted game he enjoyed far too much.

Hearing him use that name made my stomach twist. It was Matilda's birth name, the name she'd left behind. He was trying to make this personal, to get under my skin-and it was working.

"You think she can save you?" Zack continued, laughing softly. "You'll never get out of here alive, Aiah. Not even with all her resources, all her contacts. You're alone."

I wanted to shout back, but I knew it would only feed his satisfaction. Still, his words kept echoing, making me feel the walls around me closing in.

He paced back and forth, looking pleased with himself. "And even with today's technology... she'll never find you. No one will."

The weight of his words hit me, making my heart race. But despite the fear creeping in, I held on to one hope-that Matilda was out there, searching for me, and she wouldn't stop until she found me.
