Chapter 21

Arika's pov:

I am leaving this house and my family behind and going to my new house, new family, starting my new life. It was the time for vidai. We will no longer stay in jaipur. My family will head tommorow for Mumbai and now my in-laws and I are leaving.

"Dii, it's time to leave" I heard arriya's voice who was already at the verge of crying.

"Few months back only you came to India to live with us, and now again you are leaving. I never got chance to live with you as a typical sister. I'll miss you di" she said and a tear escaped from her eyes.

I pulled her for hug, patting her head I was trying to comfort her

"Aru" Radhika said putting a hand on my shoulder signalling me to come downstairs.

We separated and headed downstair. I directly walked towards my mom, hugged her and she burst in tears. I was also crying till now, she caressed my cheeks and wiped my tears saying

"Don't cry baccha, you are starting a new journey, keep smiling always bless you" she said and I nodded.

Radhika bought the tray of rice which I have to throw behind me. I did and walked towards the exit where the beautifully decorated car was already parked.

I turned around and hugged Radhika
"Do not worry. What I have said just remember that" she said and be both smiled and lastly I turned towards my dad.

He embraced me and I sobbed more in his arms

"Beta koi dikkat ho toh mujhe batana" dad said me

"Do not worry uncle, behen leke jaare hai, ek daag bhi nahi aane denge" I heard aryan and luv voice.

I smiled and dad patted my head. Avyan forwarded his hand for me, I kept my hand on him he opened the backdoor. I took the seat, he adjusted my lehenga. So, it doesn't get stuck with car door.

"Comfortable" he asked in which I nodded as respond.

After that he also took his seat beside me and giving a last glance to my family, the car accelerated for Mumbai.

I placed my head at avyan's shoulder he comforted me and don't know when I slept.

Author's pov:

As car came to stop, arika's eyes opened she looked up only to see avyan sleeping peacefully resting his head on seat. She smiled at him and caressed his cheeks with her finger.

"Bhai, andar chalna hai, ya yahi Ghar basana hai" luv said opening the door of his side and shaking him by his shoulder.

He woke as his eyes opened he saw luv grinning showing all his teeth, he made a disgust face and turned his head towards arika. He smiled looking at her.

"Mujhe dekh kar toh kabhi aisa nahi hasa" luv said pouting

"Tu biwi hai meri" he snapped back him, arika hit his chest little.

"Come beta" vanika said opening the door of arika's side.

As she stepped outside the crackers burst in air with different colours. The sky was all with colours of crackers. The flame light illuminated. She smiled looking at the view.

"Welcome bhabhii" aryan, luv, kush, divya, sonam said in unison.

Looking their gesture her eyes welled up but she controlled not to cry.

Then she walked towards the entrance. At door siya did the aarti of pair and applied tilak on their forehead.

"Bhabhi kick it" divya said keeping a bowl of rice in front of her feet. She kicked it lightly making it fall and rice shattered.

"Now give you footprints on floor" divya said keeping a plate of red colour. She was about to step on plate when a voice stopped her.

"Wait" avyan said and called the kush, he said something to him in low voice and kush went inside and quickly came back with a white cloth. He placed the cloth on floor opening it.

"Ardhangini ji, give your footprints on this cloth. So, we can keep it forever. Ghar ki Laxmi ke footprints mitaye ni jaate" he said looking straight into her eyes to her soul.

Arika's eyes were getting moist, he forwarded his hand to her she placed her soft hand on him and kept her foot in plate and walked on that white cloth giving her footprints she entered the house.

Arika's pov:

"Now, we will do one ritual then you all can go to you rooms" siya maa said and we all took our seats. It was the ritual of finding the ring from th milk and rosemary bowl. I and avyan both grinned our hand inside the bowl.

Siya maa, aryan, luv and kush were on my side and Divya, Sonam, Chachi were on his side. Gents were from both the sides and yashveer had already left for his home.

In first round avyan took out the ring.
"Yeahhh!!" People from his side cheered up.

"Bhabhi come on. We have to win" aryan and luv cheered me up and again we both dived our hand inside the bowl.

While finding the ring he took hold of my hand making my eyes wide. I stared him struggling to take my hands off.

He left my hand and this time I took out the ring and the third round was also won by me.
