Behind the Laughter

I make them laugh, I make them cheer,
With funny jokes that bring them near.
In every smile, I play my part,
But in the quiet, I hide my heart.

They love my jokes, they love my style,
But when I’m sad, they miss my smile.
I spin my tales, I make them bright,
Yet no one sees my silent night.

I wish for one to share a laugh,
To lighten up this lonely path.
I stand alone, the funny friend,
Hoping someone will see the end.

I hope that someday they will find
The heart behind this joyful mind
