Tina let out a sigh, rubbing her eyes. She felt like she was sitting behind her desk for an eternity. She was working on a particulary complex case. Her head seemed on the verge of exploding when the bell that announced the end of her workday finally rang.

Not hiding her relied, Tina organized rappidly her papers and put on her coat, before quickly making her way towards the lifts.

When she arrived in the atrium, she waved at the tired-looking wizard who was in charge of the visitors, then she apparated to the 9, Sherringford Square.

Tina climbed the steps towards the door and pushed it open. She began to kick off her boots, but she stopped when she heard rushed footsteps and shouts in the kitchen. She swiftly took out her wand and, quietly, made her way towards the kitchen's open door, where she discovered an apocalypse scene.

Everything had started so well.

Five-years old Nick had decided to wake up from his nap earlier than usual. To keep him busy, Newt had started making cookies with his son.

The Magizoologist didn't exactly knew when the situation had started to deteriorate. Anyway, when he saw his wife, stunned, at the kitchen door, he and Nick had flour everywhere, and it was like a blizzard had crossed the room.

Newt, who was running around the table to escape Nick, skidded to a halt in the flour.

His son, who hadn't seen Tina, kept running, and clumsily threw the handful of flour he had in his hand...

... Right in his mother's face, who was still motionless at the door.

Nick finally noticed her presence and came to a stop besides his father.

In the same motion, both of them looked down with a guilty look, certain that Tina was going to scold them.

Once again struck by the ressemblance between the two men in her life, Tina repressed a laugh with difficulty at the contrite expression of the two troublemakers.

Seeing the flour bag on the table, she threw a good handful on her husband with a flick of her wand.

Newt jerked his head up, shocked, but relaxed when he saw his wife's hilarious expression.

Tina couldn't repress her bursts of laughter anymore at her husband's covered in flour and dumbfounded face.

He quickly recovered from his shock and rushed towards the flour bag, throwing it in the direction of Tina, who recieved it in the face.

The Auror took that as a war declaration, and the situation quickly spiraled out of control. After a few minutes, they were all unrecognizable, entirely covered in flour, and their laughs echoed in the kitchen.

Tina was not really sure how the events had happened, but now, Newt was lying down, and Nick, who was sitting on his stomach, was consciensiously putting flour in his father's hair. When the Magizoologist saw his wife coming with a smirk, the flour bag in hand, he managed with immense difficulties to raise his hands in defeat.

« I give up, » he panted. « You won! »

Tina smiled triumphaly and dropped her handfull of flour in her husband's hair, before lifting up her son in her arms.

« Good job, sweetheart, » she smiled, pressing a kiss to Nick's cheek.

Newt stood up with difficulties and looked down at the damaged kitchen. The furnitures were all but covered by a thick layer of flour. He ran a hand in his curls, and a white rain fell before his eyes.

He looked back at his wife and son, who were more or less in the same condition. Tina's hair had become white, and Nick looked like a little snowman.

Tina wiped out her wand and made the flour scattered all over the room disappear.

Nick suddenly sneezed and spat up flour. Newt and Tina bursted out laughing.

« In the shower, little Niffler! » Newt said in an affectionate tone, ruffling his son's hair.

Tina took her son upstairs to wash, while Newt reorganized the kitchen and cooked diner.

When everyone had put a little order into their appearances, they sat down at the table and ate quietly.

Newt made Nick laugh out loud by telling him about the Niffler's latest escapades.

When the had finished dinner, Nick let out a long yawn.

Tina smiled and lifted up her son in her arms.

« Time to bed, sweetheart, » she said.

Nick wrapped his little arms around his mother's neck and burried his nose in her hair.

Tina hugged her son tightly against her, overwhelmed by the love she felt for him. It felt nearly impossible to feel that much love for such a small human being, but the fact was, she could have done anything for her son, and she loved him more than her own life.

All three of them went upstairs, in Nick's bedroom.

Tina laid him down in his bed and tuck him in before pressing a last kiss on his cheek.

« A story, Daddy! » asked Nick.

Newt sat on the edge of the bed, smiling.

Tina leaned against the door, watching her husband and her son.

« What story do you want? » Newt asked, stroking the boy's hair.

« The Occamy and the Demi-ise! » chirped the little boy, clapping his hands.

« Again? » Newt exclaimed, surprised.

He repressed a chuckle at his son's wide grin, before he start.

« One winter day, » he began. « The Demiguise arrived on the Occamy's territory. He didn't have much to do there, but the Occamy was angry, because the Demiguise had done something stupid, without doing it on purpose. »

« So the Occamy scolled the Demi-ise? » Nick asked, in a mindful tone.

« In a way, » Newt smiled. « But the Demiguise had lost the plants he needed, so the Occamy helped him to find them. But an evil dragon managed to capture them, and the Occamy was about to fall in the crater of a volcano... »

Nick pulled his covers up to his chin, looking fearful.

« And thankfully, the Demiguise saved the Occamy! »

The little boy relaxed and let out a relieved sigh. Even if it was, like, the hundredth time he heard that stoy, he never got tired of it.

« Together, they managed to find the last plants. But the Demiguise had to go home... And the Occamy had trouble letting him go. »

Tina rolled her eyes, a gesture seen only by Newt, who repressed a smile.

« So the Demiguise promised to come back. »

« And he came back! » Nick exclaimed.

« Hum... More or less, » his father hesitated. « But they found each other again, and they never left each other again. Later, they were even joined by a little Niffler, » he finished with a little smile.

Nick let out another yawn, his eyes closing on their own. Newt place gently a kiss on his forehead, wishing him good night. By the time he stood up and joined Tina at the door, their son was already asleep.

Newt wrapped an arm around his wife's shoulders, who leaned against him, watching their child sleeping form. The Magizoologist hugged Tina against him, pressing a kiss in her hair.

« I love you, » he whispered quietly.

« And I love you more, » whispered his wife, turning her head to kiss him on the lips.

They shared a tender kiss, before padding out of their son's bedroom, still in each other's arms.
