-Laeilwyn's Perspective-

I woke up to a blinding light pouring in the window and an empty bed. "Brynjolf's awake and he couldn't close the blind? Jerk." I got up and peered out the window. It seemed the whole city was awake. "How early is it?" I muttered to myself. Just then, I heard a knock at the door. I opened it, and Keerava was standing there with a slip of parchment.

"Morning Elle. Mercer wanted me to give this to you." She passed it to me.

"Thanks Keerava. What time is it?" I asked.

"About 11 o'clock."

"WHAT?! Uh, okay thank you!" I closed the door and quickly began gathering my things. I threw on my Guild armor and was strapping my gauntlets on when I rushed down the stairs, saying goodbye to Keerava as I sped out the door. I sprinted past the Temple and jumped down the ladder, landing with a loud thud on the ground. I whipped my head up, Mercer wasn't at his desk, which was a good sign. I said good morning to the new members and introduced myself before I saw Erandur come out of the Flagon. I waved to him, and he walked over to me.

"Good morning. Is Mercer here?"

"Mercer? Haven't seen him. I'd think you'd be wondering about Brynjolf." He crossed his arms.

I looked at him confused. "Brynjolf, he's here isn't he?"

Erandur nodded. "Indeed. Weren't you a little confused when you woke up to an empty bed this morning?"

In my head, I was in level ten panic mode, but I kept it cool. "Brynjolf and I weren't together last night." I felt horrible for lying, but it had to be done.

"Really? That's not what Brynjolf told me when he stumbled into the Temple last night, drunk as ever, and asked me to make him a stamina potion so he could last longer in bed with you."

Damn it Brynjolf... I thought. I opened my mouth to speak, but Erandur cut me off.

"Why didn't you just tell me Elle?"

"Because I know you don't like Brynjolf and you'd get angry with me?"

"I'm not angry. I'm disappointed."

"Who are you, my mother?" I jabbed.

"No, I'm your friend, and friends don't lie to each other!" He argued. He seemed really upset, his brows were furrowed and his jaw was clenched.

Before I could speak, a voice behind me interrupted me. "Laeilwyn. Nice of you to finally show up." It was Mercer. "Time to go." He began walking towards the ladder.

I turned around to continue discussing with Erandur. "You better go. Wouldn't want to keep your boss waiting." He said, turning his back and going back to the alchemy table.

I was torn. I couldn't leave Erandur without making up. But he seemed less than interested in hearing an apology. It can wait until I get back. I won't be gone for long. I sighed, and quickly went over to my chest to get my things. I finally get to use some of my new netch jelly poison on that hag who murdered Gallus. There'll never be a better occasion! Finally, as I had all my things packed up, I pulled out my inkwell and parchment and scribbled I'm sorry on a scrap, placing it on Erandur's pillow before leaving.

I met Mercer at the city gates. "Where's Sigaar?"

"He won't be driving us this time. I've hired someone else." Mercer nodded his head towards a burly, mean looking Nord man who only grunted at me when I said hello. "Let's get going. We don't want Karliah to slip through our fingers again."
