Before you read this part, I suggest you go back and read the first couple paragraphs of the previous chapter. I kinda missed out on adding 2 lines, and without reading them, the beginning of this one won't make much sense. Sorry for the inconvenience!

"Is this thing on??"

"Yes."

"OK, here we go. Audio Log #42...Er.. What was it again?"

"4206, Mike."

"Right, thanks Phil, I'll manage from here. Get back to repairing the ceiling."

"Audio Log #4206"

"April 26, 2150"

"If anybody is listening to these logs, by now you would have noticed this isn't the usual voice. That's because this is Michael Connor, son of John Connor. The reason I'm talking to you is because, Umm, Sebastian isn't here. Why? I'll tell you:"

"On the morning of April 22nd, I went to Sebastian's office, curious about his strange behaviour, he was pretty suspicious looking after the attack, with a sinister smirk and all, and he also seemed like something was seriously on his mind. He was working on something again, and then I noticed he was always relentlessly working on something or another since the Mech-men attack."

"Eh, What's up, Doc?" I asked, and I remember it that particularly because of the reply he gave me.

"Hmm.. You sound like a cocky and brash bipedal, gray member of a Leporidae family with vocal capabilities."

"What the heck does that supposed to mean?"

"I meant that you sound like Bugs Bunny"

"Again, What the heck is that supposed to mean?"

"Bugs was a pretty famous animated rabbit when I was a kid."

"Okay..I guess.. But you still haven't answered my question."

"I am working on a projectile chainsaw blade launcher because the hyperchloric acid spray didn't quite work out."

"Is it just me or are your weapons getting more and more brutal up your arsenal?!" I asked, I mean, Acid spray?? Chainsaw launcher?? The weapons don't even kill immediately, they just maim or decapitate the enemy leading to a slow, bloody and painful death. This guy was turning into a villain of an American slasher movie.

"And turns out, mixing two radio-active elements to produce a WMD is a bust too!!"

"Whoa Whoa Whoa!!! Slow the heck down. You are already just an experiment-gone-wrong away from becoming a super-villain and this is no safe method to work with Umm I don't know, RADIOACTIVE CHEMICALS!!!" I was irate by then and before it escalated into murderous rage, I wanted to get the job over with and get outta that place. "Just tell me what you were planning yesterday, before I mutate into a mindless brute."

"Before that, Tell me Mike, did you ever hear about "Anthony Stark" he asked, staring through his lab safety glasses with those ethereal eyes.

"Of course I did, I even met him when he was working with my dad. He was the top-of-the-line weapons manufacturer company's CEO, but he tried to rid the world of weapons after he was kidnapped by The Ten Rings near Gulmira.But..." I said, before he cut me off.

"But trying to rid the world of weapons, he gave it the best one ever of it's time: A full body exo-suit made of an electrum of gold and platinum. The suit was so hard, it took all of the blows itself, and 'Tony' Stark, on the inside of the suit felt as much as a bump, tops."

"Yeah, so? "

"So," He continued, "The suit was a major success. He went on improving it to make it more and more portable: First, he made it into a rocket/jetpack which was launched from the 'Stark Tower' , later it was reduced to a suitcase, until finally, the suit became a part of him, id est, the suit was built into his bones, and could surface out whenever he wanted."

I know totally comprehended what he was implying, and I was gobsmacked, my jaw dropped open, and I mumbled "Tony Stark was the first ever Mech-man!!!"

"Yes,but all his intentions were good. But after a few years, the technology became so cheap, it was available to most of the general public. Eventually, it fell into the wrong hands. Some began making their own suits.  Thus were born the Mech-men."

"Holy Crap..I didn't know that! Anyway, pardon the breach of topic, but what exactly are you trying to say?" I inquired.

"Think about it. Tony Stark had a number of variations of suits, which were all a form of shields or armor, though it is a gross over simplification."

"Go on." I said.

"So, didn't it still strike you? OK, I'll give you a hint. What am I basically?"

"A..a ghost?"

"and what do ghosts do?"

"They po...Oh My Gosh!! Your not thinking of.. All that talk about a suit of armor! That's why you wanted to get that bird-thing ALIVE!! Are you nuts?! That's too harsh even for them!"

"It's a harsh world, agreed. That's why you gotta do anything to survive. Try recollecting the juggernaut we fought the other day, didn't you notice how many of our people he killed? Didn't you see all the skulls he wore?"

"I...I don't know what to say, Doc.."

"If this works out, think about what a towering advantage we'll have!! We can easily nullify the strongest member of their flank and use it against them. We'll win by a landslide."

"I guess we could give it a try, Doc, but one sign of inhumanity, and I am pulling the plug on the whole thing."

"Fair enough. We begin testing tomorrow."

"OK, I'll get things ready." I said. I still regret that.

"Hey, Mike, you don't seem so happy about it. Why is that?" He asked.

"I don't know, it just doesn't feel right, but as you said, if it works, we will have a tactical upper hand."

"You can't get emotional now MIke, we are a numerical minority!"

"But the idea looks to have arisen from madness."

"Madness? This Is WAR! and I will do anything I can to win."

"At what cost? The collateral damage wil be sky-high!"

"I don't care!"

"I DO! and as I already said, one sign, and I'm pulling the plug on the whole thing."

"Who made you in-charge?"

"I don't want to hear it, just do the experiment now, I can't wait till tomorrow." I said barging out of the room.
