Chapter 5

"Sweetie. Its time to get up!" I hear a lite whisper above me.

"Uhhhhh, i dont wanna get up yet." I whine back.

"Too bad. Get up, or water will have to be introduced to your head."

"You wouldn't dare! "

"You must not know me very well, because i so will."

"Okay okay im up." I sprang to my feet and walked over to the bathroom.

"Good. Now that your up, we need to talk." I heard my moms voice surrounding me.

"About?" I combed my hair, and pulled it into a side french braid.

"About a nice vacation."

Hearing those words made me relax at just the thought of going on a vacation.

"Okay really? Where to?"

"Well, its about that. Me and your dad will be going, well alone. Without you."

I flinched as i heard her say without you.

"Without me?" I whined back.

"Uh, ya. But there is some good news out of this."

There was a long pause, before she sighed and began to speak.

"Well, you will be staying with my friend. Mrs. Duke." She smiled widely.

I flinched as she said the last word. Duke. As in Shane's mom. Like THE SHANE.

"You call that good news? She is Shane's mom!"

I walked out of the bathroom, tying a hairband around the end of my braid.

"Oh good so you know him. Well ya. You will be staying with them for two weeks." Once again she smiles.

"This is not something to be smiling about. This is Shane Duke, we are talking about." I stomped my foot and walked over to my desk to apply my makeup.

"Yes. It is Shane. He is a nice kid. Relax. You will be fine. Thanks for being okay with this."

"Im not okay with this!" I yelped as she walked out of my room.

I pulled on a pair of white shorts, black short sleeve, black converse, and a long silver heart necklace.

Just as the necklace reached the front of my collar bone, my phone buzzed.

'Hey.'
-Shane

'Hey. What do you want?'
-Jessi

'Ouch. Just wanted to ask you why me?'
-Shane

'Why you what?'
- Jessi

I sighed as i realized what he was talking about. Me staying at his house for two weeks.

'You at my house for two weeks.'
-Shane

'Why you? Really? I am being forced. You think i want to come live at your house for 14 days? Really? I think not.'

My phone didnt buzz, so i decided i would go to the mall, since school got cancelled for some stupid teachers meeting. But hey, its fine by me. That just means no school.

"Hello! Welcome to Forever 21. If there is anything you need help with, my name is Sophie!" A polite girl said as i entered through forever 21.

"Thanks." I flashed her a big smile.

I walked over to the clearence rack and fumbled my fingers through the hangers. My eyes landed on a white crop top that said, ' I don't really care'. It was super cute. I flipped over the shirt to find the yellow price tag.
