Chapter 3

Angel Realm - The Selection

"Today's the day," Charlotte said with excitement. "I can hardly wait," Marjorie said with boredom. "Oh, come on, how can you NOT be excited?"  Charlotte asked her friend. "Because it also means we'll have to fight a demon off to protect someone," Marjorie replied with.

The time came for all the angels to get chosen a human to protect from a demon. The angels walked to the auditorium where the selection would be taking place as they'd all go up eventually. Marjorie took a seat right next to Charlotte since they were really good friends. 

Vivian took a seat next to Marjorie since they were friends. They didn't talk since any angel who did would be one of the humans for the day being forced to be one. The selections would begin soon as each angel would be given a human to protect and the same with the demons except, they'd have to kill the human instead. This was the only way an angel could be human is when they pretend with the humans they need to protect. Other than that, they are with the other angels here in heaven.

"I'll go first," Charlotte said as she was super excited to get this started with. "I don't want to be here," Marjorie replied with not excited to be there. In all fairness, she wasn't really going to be as they'd all have to fight a demon off on the human that was chosen for them in general.

Charlotte walked up when her name was called getting the human she'd need to protect for the 

Charlotte came back with an excited look on her face. "They said I have to protect a girl named Deliah or something like that," Charlotte said. "I got a girl named Siobhan," Vivian said. "Wait, you were already selected to pick?" Charlotte asked in shock since not many angels would be picked before her since she always was the one to love the selections. Vivian shrugged and Marjorie slumped in her chair since she had always got chosen last. There were around 1700 angels, so she'd need to wait a long time. 

One by one, most of the angels got called. Vivian and Charlotte stayed by Marjorie's side until she'd finally go up there and get chosen a human to protect. 

"And lastly, Marjorie!" The head angel called causing Marjorie to stand and walk up to them. "And who do I get to protect ma'am?" Marjorie asked the head angel. "A girl with the name of Carly. She's 17 so you'll protect her until she reaches 18," The head angel told her before dismissing her.

"I got a teenager by the name of Carly," Marjorie said as she approached Charlotte and Vivian. "At least yours isn't in the 30s like ours," Charlotte replied feeling jealous that she has to protect an older person. "I never really care who I protect so yeah," Marjorie said not really in the mood for this.

All the angels went back to their headquarters for the rest of the day as tomorrow would bring the day they all meet the person they were assigned with.

Marjorie paced in her quarters with Charlotte since they both shared one both being nervous on which demon they'd be fighting to protect the person but, in all fairness, didn't care as the bigger issue was keeping the person alive.
