Chapter 9

I wake up in the morning around 5:45 ish, I choose to stay in bed because it's too early to do anything. It's quiet in the apartment so I know Eric is probably still sleeping and Donut is asleep and curled up in her bed in the corner of my room.

I usually go to the gym every morning but today I'm not sure if I'll go because I wanna stick around in case Eric needs something even if it's just to talk. We can hangout then maybe I can go to the gym in evening, hopefully it won't be packed.

Nothing stresses me out more than exercising in a gym when it's full of people especially men, some men just choose to make you uncomfortable for no reason.

I decide to get out of bed around 7 am, I wash my face and then I go to the kitchen to make breakfast. I'll go for something simple like bacon, scrambled eggs and toast. Hopefully Eric isn't allergic to anything.

I take out all the ingredients I need and lay it out, trying my best to make as less noise as possible. I do the eggs first then  I follow up with bacon on a different pan and then lastly I make toast. I take out the juice from the fridge and put on the counter, honestly I don't know what he likes to drink: juice or coffee.

After a few minutes I'm done with breakfast I see Eric turning on the couch and then he sits up rubbing his eyes. He gets up and stretches then he looks to the kitchen and sees me, he laughs and walks over, " Good morning Rosie."

I look at him, he looks much better then earlier but his eyes are red and puffy like he's been crying, " Good morning to you too Eric, I made breakfast please have some."

He smiles, " Thank you, let me fold the blanket and wash my face then I'll eat." He folds the blanket and sets the pillow on top, then he walks to the bathroom. I take the blanket to my bedroom, as I walk in I see Donut up and stretching.

" Hey baby girl, you up." She runs to me and I pick her up and give her kisses. " My precious girl, did you sleep well? Let's go have some breakfast." At the sound of breakfast she jumps in my arms. I walk to the kitchen with her in my arms.

We get to the kitchen and Eric is already seated and eating. " Donut says hi." I tell him and he looks up and laughs. I put her down by her eating area and I serve her breakfast as well.

I join Eric, serve myself some eggs and we continue eating silently after some time he clears his throat " Derek cheated on me, again". For some time I freeze, then I drop my fork and I go over to him to give him a hug.

As soon as he lays his head on my shoulder he starts crying and it breaks my heart. " I am so sorry Eric." I wish I could take his pain away. " I am so sorry that you have to go through so much pain."

I hold him for a few more minutes then he pulls back, " I feel like such an idiot!! I should have known better than to trust him again, especially when he's cheated on me before!" He wipes his tears angrily and then he stands up.

I sit on his chair and I watch him pace up and down, " He told me I had nothing to worry about! That the guy was just a friend and that he'll never hurt me like that again!!" He pauses and then a sad look fills his face, " My friends warned me, they told me not to trust him but noooo my stupid ass didn't listen!!"

He huffs and pulls his hair, " I am just so angry with myself for getting hurt by the same person, the second time by the same shit. If I'd left him the first time he fucked up I wouldn't be here."

" Look you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, you only did what you felt was right at the time which was give him another chance. You simply followed your heart"

He looks at me," Yeah I get you but still I feel like such an idiot, I mean I fought so hard with my family and my friends when they advised me against staying with him. I mean I've been through this before, getting cheated on over and over by the same person after they had promised to change. I should have known this same thing was gonna happen here!"
