"Ms. Kordei will see you now." Her secretary, Jessica, informed me.
I picked up my portfolio from the seat beside me and nervously wiped the sweat from my palms onto my tightly fit skirt before getting up with shaky knees.
This is it. If I don't get this job, I'm screwed.
Earlier this morning
"Y/N! Get the hell up." Lauren rocked me side to side on the bed. "You've got that interview at 2."
I sat up on the bed and rubbed my eyes roughly to get all of the sleep out, "I honestly don't want to go."
Lauren frowned and sat on the edge of the bed to grab my hand, "I know you don't but we're barely able to make rent, babe." I nodded as Lauren leaned in to kiss my forehead. "Now, get up and get your ass in the shower to get ready. I'll go make us some breakfast."
Lauren has been so good to me. Her and I have been on and off for years now. We met in high school and both decided that we wanted to move off and start a new life together. Sometimes we decide we're better off as friends and then other times we can't keep our hands off of each other. Right now I'm not even sure where we lie but that's not what I'm worried about. I'm worried about this interview.
I finally got out of design school and wanted to go to the top. Sure, I've had a few odd jobs in between all of this like driving Uber cars and delivering newspapers but that's just so Lauren and I could get by. Her bartending job isn't going to get us anywhere.
After turning on the shower and stripping off all of my clothes, I stepped in to the scalding hot water to wet my hair down before putting shampoo in it.
Fifteen minutes later, I walked out of the shower to see Lauren brushing her teeth and looking deep into the mirror. I bent down to grab my towel and pull it up over my body. When I looked back, I noticed Lauren's wandering eyes.
"Gonna take a picture?" I laughed.
She spit out her tooth paste and brought some water into her mouth before replying, "No but only because you refuse to take nudes."
"That's because you see me every day. Why would you want a picture?"
I dropped the towel to grab the bra that Lauren laid out for me, along with a few other articles of clothing, and slipped the straps over the shoulders.
"Little help?" I asked Lauren.
She slowly walked over to pull my hair to the side and hook the bra. She didn't remove her hands until her lips met my neck, "You're gonna do great."

Vogue. A sign read on her office door in fancy letters.Normani Kordei is one of the biggest names in fashion at the moment. Not only is she head editor of Vogue magazine but she's also the top designer in the world. I've always thought her pieces were so intriguing and absolutely stunning even though I couldn't afford them if I sold my body.
I grabbed the handle shakily and turned the knob to enter a very large room. A huge window peaked on one wall and you could see all of New York.
Ms. Kordei was sitting at her big desk, looking down at some papers with glasses on the bridge of her nose.
"Sit down." She ordered me looking up out of the glasses.
I nodded and hurried to sit in the seat across from her. I felt so out of my comfort zone. This was THE Normani Kordei Hamilton. Inspiration at its finest.
Ms. Kordei got up from her desk and my eyes got big seeing the absolute perfection that was in front of me. Her tight fit body, those long dark legs, that slight smirk. I felt my whole body begin to feel stuck in a surprised pose.
"Can I see your resume?" She walked up to sit at the front of her desk. Her ass was pressing so nicely in that pencil skirt I'm sure if she moved the right way it would just burst.
Stop. Just stop. You need this job. Don't let your childish hormones get in the way of all of this.
I hurried to pull my resume out of the portfolio to hand it to her. She retrieved it and read through before taking her glasses off and biting on the frame of the glasses with a perfect row of teeth.
Ms. Kordei eyed down me and my outfit. I almost felt myself come undone but I had to use the most self control to not hit on her or kiss her with the way she was eye fucking me.
I've seen this look from Lauren many times. That's the only reason why I know about it and the only reason why I'm acting so animalistic. This is completely unlike me.
She giggled lightly before graciously walking back behind her desk in those six inch pumps and sitting back down on the Italian leather chair.
"Look." She smiled, making full eye contact with me. "You have no experience in any of this besides going to your 'precious' design school and getting a bachelors. Yippee for you. I don't think you understand that this is serious business. I need someone that will provide all the needs that have to be fulfilled in this company and in my line of work."
I started digging in my portfolio for the designs I've made, "If you'll just let me show you some of my sketches, I can assure you that-"
"I don't need your little doodles." She interrupted me. "Listen, the only reason why I'm considering you is because frankly, I'm desperate. This place needs a fresh new start and I'll be damned if I let some half brained 59 year old get in my way."
I was highly confused as to where she was going with all of this, "So what does that mean?"
"It means I'm going to start you off as an intern. You'll be getting coffee, running errands, and doing everything I say until I know you are able to do all of this." Ms. Kordei explained.
"I promise I will give it my all. Thank you so much." I told her, standing up to give her a handshake across her desk.
Ms. Kordei glared at my hand before getting up to slowly walk in front of me and be face to face. "This isn't going to be easy, Ms. Y/L/N. I'm not your run of the mill boss. What we will have in this office will be a, um, special connection. You must agree to that at all costs. Do you understand?"
"Completely."
Normani softly licked her lips, "Then get out of my office and be here by six A.M. on the dot tomorrow morning."
"Thank you." I gulped before hauling ass out of that building before she could change her mind. The whole ride home in the cab, something kept bothering me.
Was she really hitting on me or was this all my imagination?
