Chapter 39

I wasn't thinking straight. I've lost my self control. I had to get myself back together.

Nilingon ko ang dalawang walang buhay na nakahandusay sa sahig. My breathing became uneven and all I can see is red. I pointed the gun on Rico's head and pulled the trigger repeatedly until I ran out of bullets.

For weeks I've been busy with my personal stuffs that I've forgotten that my daughter was abducted.

Nagtiim bagang ako.

For six years I've mastered how to control my own emotion. I've been all focused on what my goal is. I'm gonna take that woman back on track. I should not let myself get distracted because this is what will happen again.

Lumabas ako sa basement at dumiretso sa kwarto para magpakalma. Naabutan ko si Kai- the impostor, on the veranda. He's looking at the horizon.

Pinagmasdan ko siya ng ilang saglit.

Kai would immediately acknowledge my presence no matter how deep his thoughts were. But this guy... He's innocently looking at the city lights, drowning on his own thoughts.

Nang lumapit ako sa kanya ay tsaka niya lang ako nilingon.

"Saan ka galing?" Gulat na aniya.

My eyebrows twitched.

"Nagpahangin lang." Malamig kong ani.

Justine, are you good?

I know he will be fine but I still can't stop myself from worrying. Nag iisa lamang siya laban sa maraming tauhan ni Ken.

"Matulog na tayo." Walang gana niyang ani at iniwan ako sa veranda. Ilang saglit matapos niyang pumasok sa kwarto ay may palasong muntik nang tumama sa akin.

Deron taught me how to expand my sensitivity for me to be able to sense whether something or someone is coming towards my direction. He literally demonstrated how I am supposed to stop an arrow by catching it with my bare hands.

I've mastered it for the past five years. Muntik na akong mamatay dahil din sa kagustuhan kong matuto ngunit hindi ako tumigil. Mamamatay din naman ako, mas mabuti nang mamatay nang may maipagmamalaki kapag naging kuwento ako.

Ang mahigpit na pagkakahawak ko sa palaso ang naging dahilan ng pagkakabali nito. Sa sobrang layo, hindi ko maaninag kung sino iyon. Pero kitang kita ko ang pagbagsak niya mula sa rooftop ng building hanggang sa ground floor.

"Recca! Are you okay?" Alalang tanong ng lalaki.

Recca? Kai would never call me that way. Not by that name.

Hinarap niya ako. Natigilan siya ng makita ang baling palaso sa harap ko.

"B-Buti hindi ka tinamaan? Saan yan galing? Ayos ka lang?" Tarantang aniya.

Buti hindi ako tinamaan?

I smirked.

"What do you mean by buti hindi ako tinamaan?" Natigilan siya sa tanong ko.

"Napulot ko lang ito sa sahig. Sa'yo ba 'to?" Maang maangan ko. Umawang ang labi niya at nilingon ang building kung nasaan ang lalaki kanina. Though I'm not really sure if that fucker is a he or she.

Rinig na rinig namin mula dito ang ambulansya at ingay ng police mobile. Kumunot ang noo niya at nanliit ang mga mata— pilit na tinitingnan kung ano ang meron.

My bracelet vibrated for an incoming call. Hindi ko iyon pinansin.

"I'm gonna take a bath first. Mauna ka nang matulog." Ani ko at tinalikuran siya dala pa din ang palaso.

Inangat ko ang braso ko at tinapat sa bibig ang bracelet.

"Speak."

"We're in the basement, Queen." Seryosong ani Aragorn.

"Who's with you?" I asked.

"I'm with the boys and the trainees. But they will be escorted to their quarters by Silver and Kleo." Aniya. Tumango ako.

"Don't make any noise. We will be sleeping together." I warned them.

Narinig ko sa kabilang linya ang reklamo ni Deron at Jaero dahil naaatim ko raw'ng pakisamahan ang lalaking ito.

"Who dispatched the watcher, Aragorn? May kinalaman ba kayo?" Tanong ko dahil hindi ko din alam ang dahilan ng pagkamatay ng pinagmulan ng palaso.

"It was Pierre, Queen. He's in a bad mood and he saw Kyle." So that was Kyle. He is one of Ken's trusted men.

"It's time for me to give them a warning. Isa pang pagtatangka nila, hindi ako magdadalawang isip na bigyan sila ng sumpa ng kamatayan. Ken should be aware of what I can do when I am angry. He was my former trusted friend, anyway." Ani ko.

Kalaunan at nagpaalam na ako para makapag ayos ng sarili.

The impostor was sleeping peacefully when I came out of the bathroom.

Kay sarap titigan lalo kung naliligo siya sa sarili niyang dugo.

My eyes are tired and wants to rest but my mind is in chaos. Ang resulta ay hindi ako nakatulog.

The boys came back sooner than expected. They're back weeks earlier than what we have planned.

The impostor was too shocked when he saw my men in the dining room the next morning. I was up too early because I literally couldn't sleep even a bit.

I almost chortled when I saw his horrified reaction.

"Let's eat, Kai." Alok ko. Kitang kita ko ang pag aalinlangan niya.

Pierre, Jaero and Aragorn gawked at his every move. Their eyes and the way they look at the guy screams a lot of danger.

Kai heaved a deep breathe before gaining his posture again.

Walang malisya siyang naupo sa dulong gitna sa harap ko. Usually, Aragorn will seat at the second seat on my right side because he's reserving the first seat for Kai. But now he's seating right next to me that our elbow almost touch each other.

"How's the training?" Kai asked.

Pierre smirked and shook his head a bit before eating a slice of pork chop.

Aragorn was the one to answer Kai's question using his baritone voice.

"Good. We need a lot of practice but we gave our trainees time to be with their families. Some might get themselves killed during their training days." Aniya at nagsalin ng tubig para sa akin.

Tahimik lang akong kumakain habang pinapanood ang mga kasamahan ko na makiusap sa impostor.

After eating the last piece of meat in my plate, I announced something.

"I will be gone for a couple of weeks. You don't need to ask why and when I will be back." Nilingon ko si Aragorn.

"Take charge. I will leave tonight." Seryosong ani ko.
