I get off my flight, walking through the airport as I quickly grab my stuff. I'm rushing through the airport gate so that I can start looking for her. Her. The girl I hadn't imagined would be the girl I'm looking forward to going home to. Her that I haven't even thought of ever being my girlfriend. But I was so excited that it was her that I'm in love with.

I walk through the airport, and then I hear an excited squeal.

"Daddy!" I hear a shout coming from in front of me, and I watch as my best friend grins at the sight of his daughter. The child pushes away from her mother's embrace and onto her feet. Then she is running the distance to her father, and Miles crouches down to catch her. Evie jumps into her father's arm, a grinou on her face. Her ringlets fly all over as she excitedly grabs for her dad's arms.

"My sweet girl," Miles says to her before he hugs her with a grin. Evie is giggling into his shoulder as he holds her. Miles places a hand on the back of Evie's head and kisses her forehead. "Hi, baby, you missed Daddy?"

"Daddy, leave," Evie says with a frown, and I physically sigh at the cuteness in front of me. "Daddy posed to come earlier."

"Aw mama," Miles says to her, with a gentle smile. "Daddy was supposed to come earlier?"

"Yeah, mommy, say!" Evie shouts enthusiastically. "We wait for you!"

"I was waiting to come home to you as well," Miles tells her before he kisses her again. Then he looks forward, and his eyes soften as he takes in his wide. "Andrea," he whispers her name, reaching his arm out. "What are you doing so far, sweetheart?"

"Waiting until it's okay for me to want to steal you for myself," his wife answers back with a grin. Miles shakes his head at her as he says, "Come here, baby."

Andrea runs the distance to him, and I watch Miles as he hugges his wife with his daughter in his arm. I smiled at the wonderful image in front of me, and I was happy for them. I was very happy for them, but I couldn't help but frown a little when I couldn't see my girl. I take a step back from the scene, turning to look away.

"Bash," comes a whisper from beside me, and a hand goes around my wrist. I turn my body, but I don't see anything as my girlfriend throws her arms over my shoulder in a tight embrace. I drop my bags, not caring about them as I move my hand to hold her. I'm smiling into her hair as she hugs me tightly, and I can practically feel her love from here. She adjusts her hands at the back of my shoulder and says, "Hi, baby."

"Jen," I whisper her name, breathing in her scent. "You came to get me."

"Are you kidding?" she asks with a snicker. "I was waiting for the day you come home for the last two months!"

I'm so excited at the thought of how excited she was to see me. She holds me closer to her but pulls away so I can look at her. When I get a good look at the woman I'm going to be finally coming home to, I feel my eyes soften. Jennifer was a sight to see. She has been in my dreams, someone I've been so anxiously waiting to see again. She looked better than any image my dream can conjure up. Her hair had grown out past her shoulders, and her hair was lighter. She had finally allowed her hair to grow back to its natural state, and she looked good. This worked for her, and it only made her look better. Her face was brightened under the smile she was sporting, and I'm so happy at the sight of her.

"Jennifer," I whisper at her. "I'm home, baby."

"I know," she says, and when she makes an excited noise in between a squeal and a giggle, I can't help but feel the warmth of it in my heart. She was so excited to see me. Her hands fist at the back of my neck, the one at the end of my hair gripping the strands. "I'm so excited, Bash," she whispers-shouts and I can live off the excitement from her.
