Schools out and my siblings are home. Mom introduces me to Lucas and Mia.
"So guys, this is Isabella. My niece who'll be staying with us for the rest of the year. You guys know what happened. So we won't go into that detail" she says.
Lucas greets.
"Hi Isabella. It's nice meeting a niece. I haven't met one before. Also sorry about your dad" he says so kindly.
He reminds me of the guy in Stuart Little. He's quite adorable.
Mia seems like your typical daddy's little spoilt brat. Wrapped in her own bubble and not giving a fuck about the rest of the world.
"Hey. Yeah. Uhm. Sorry about your dad" she says.
Before I could say anything back, she yells and asks Angela to ask if her package arrived and after she receives her answer, goes to her room.
Yes. She seems like an amazing step sister to have.
I guess Stuart Little really was my brother, cause the little guy left quite the impression on me. Mom said he turned nine this year.
That evening Brian came and he gave me a stern look.
"Isabella." he says with a stern straight face.
"Brian", I say in with the same tone and expression.
"I must admit, you look quite like your mother" he says.
From what I can see, it seems Mom wants to laugh. It's the first time I saw her smile.
What an amazing introduction. Seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree for Mia.
Poor Lucas. stuck with this family.
It's dinner time and Mom asks how everyone's day was.
"Me and the girls went to a pop up shop and bought the latest, trendiest outfits. We're going to wear it to Avery's party on Friday!", Mia exclaims with a squeak in her voice.
'Latest, trendiest outfits' I mock in my head.
"How about you Lucas?" Mom asks.
"School was school I guess" he says with a disgruntled look on his face.
"Well, Isabella will be joining you at school tomorrow Mia. So please show around and introduce her to some people" Mom says looking at Mia.
"I'm pretty sure, she can find her way around school and make her own friends" Mia answers, almost annoyed.
"Oh yeah trust me. The last I want to do, is be around her at school as well. It seems here's punishment enough" I say giving her the same attitude.
She gives me a fake smile with a smirk. Lucas laughs.
I return the gesture.
This is going to be a long year.
That night while laying in bed, I felt a hand on my face.
As I opened my eyes, I saw who it was.
