Hello... as will be a short story, and due to health problems I have not been able to upload more chapters. Today I will be updating as much as I can, thanks to those who read it. Bye (:

The morning sun caressed Yoko's kitchen with an almost magical delicacy, casting a warm golden light that danced across the surfaces. Faye moved among the utensils with an air of unwavering concentration. The aroma of glutinous rice and sweet mango filled the room, enveloping her in a comforting, familiar fragrance. Faye's every movement was a mix of nerves and hope, as if this breakfast was a secret ritual she shared with her own thoughts.
Meanwhile, Yoko remained trapped in a world of restless dreams and mixed memories. The previous night had left her vulnerable, her tears silent witnesses to an internal battle. But unlike other sleepless nights, this time she had fallen asleep with a strange sense of peace. She woke slowly, the rays of the sun caressing her skin and the shadows of dark circles marking her exhaustion. Instinctively, her hand sought the other side of the bed, only to find emptiness and cold. A pang of disappointment ran through her chest. Had she expected to find someone there? Maybe, but the knowledge that Faye probably didn't feel the same stuck in her mind like a thorn.
Yoko stood up and, with hesitant steps, walked to the kitchen in search of water, the need for clarity burning within her. When her eyes fell on Faye, she felt a flash of warmth that she couldn't explain. Faye, immersed in her task, looked up at the sound of the floorboards creaking beneath Yoko's feet.
"Good morning," Yoko murmured, her voice still sleepy and full of surprise.
Faye turned her head, her eyes shining with a tinge of nervousness. "Good morning. I hope you're hungry, because I'm making breakfast," she replied, flashing a smile that hid more than it showed.
Silence took over the kitchen for a moment. Yoko, still processing what she was seeing, sat at the island, her fingers tightening around the edge of the counter. When her gaze met the plate Faye had so painstakingly prepared, a mix of emotions flooded through her. She took the cutlery with trembling fingers and looked at the breakfast in front of her, an offering that seemed to scream a hidden meaning.
Faye noticed the tension in Yoko and the silence that stretched on. Worry coursed through her, making the knot in her stomach tighten further. "Hey... are you okay, Yo?" she asked, slowly approaching, her tone soft but laden with concern.
Yoko looked up, her gaze meeting Faye's. Their lips parted, hesitant. "You know, no one's ever made my favorite breakfast for me," she finally admitted, her voice barely a whisper as the first bite touched her lips.
Faye's smile faded for a second, replaced by a spark of something Yoko couldn't quite make out.
Faye felt a pang in her chest, as if Yoko's words had hit a sensitive, forgotten spot. "That's sad. Isn't there anyone special in your life who will do that for you?" she asked, trying to keep her tone light, but seriousness inevitably seeped into her voice.
Yoko looked away, a shadow of sadness crossing her dark eyes. "No, there's no one special in my life," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper. The confession settled on the room like an unexpected, heavy, tangible truth.
Faye's heart skipped a beat. A flash of confusion crossed her mind, followed by a feeling she couldn't name. "Are you serious?" she blurted, almost without thinking. "I think you must have a lot of admirers stalking you."
The tension in the air became almost palpable. Their gazes met, and for an instant, the world seemed to stop. There was something in the way Faye had said it, a hint of complaint, perhaps a spark of concern... or even jealousy. Yoko noticed it. She couldn't ignore the veiled tone of those words, nor the intensity in Faye's eyes. It was as if something was slipping between them, something unsaid, something they were both afraid to put into words.
