---------------
Suddenly, P'Wan burst into the recording studio, his face red with anger, throwing his phone so hard on the table that it almost broke.
- Would you mind explaining this to me, Faye? - P'Wan's voice was high-pitched, his arms were crossed while he stood stiff and his eyes pierced her.
Faye looked up, surprised, with her breath still. - It's not... it's not what you think, P'Wan. That magazine is full of lies. The You can't believe what they say!
—And what exactly should I believe, Faye? - P'Wan's tone softened a little, but frustration still permeated his words. Your publicist just called me. This story is all over the internet. Do you realize how detrimental it is to your career?
P'Wan dropped into a chair next to Faye, his expression oscillating between anger and concern. Faye remained silent, eyes fixed on the article and her leg bouncing nervously. Tears began to accumulate in his eyes as the weight of the situation calmed.
-Lux and I... finished things before this all came out, Faye whispered, her voice barely audible.
P'Wan's eyebrows rose, with a mixture of unbelief and pain on his face. - And you didn't think to tell me? Or at least make public the break-up before you were discovered with someone else?
Faye swallowed her saliva hard and tears began to flow freely. - It's... it's complicated.
His body was tense, his hands clenched in fists, shaking. P'Wan softened, leaning closer and wrapping an arm around Faye's shoulders.
-Faye, P'Wan murmured, you know you can trust me, right? But... what really happened with Lux?
Faye was breathless when she finally let the truth out. "It was her, P'Wan... she cheated first".
The words left P'Wan speechless. I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. The surprise was reflected in her face as she looked at her friend, whose pain was now too intense to hide.
"It happened at the Paris fashion show," continued Faye with a trembling voice. "I heard two months after she returned. It was with a model, Nick Franco, I think. I read the messages... I wanted to believe that she wasn't real, that maybe it was just a fan who was stalking her. But no... they slept together in Paris while I was here, working non-stop for us".
P'Wan pressed his jaw and handed a handkerchief to Faye. I couldn't find the right words. The pain in Faye's voice was unmistakable.
—We had a big fight after I heard, Faye whispered in her broken voice. I didn't make the breakup public because... I didn't want to ruin Lux's career. I couldn't force myself to do it. Even after everything he did... I didn't want to hurt him.
P'Wan's thoughts accelerated. She deceives you and you still protect them, but she bit her tongue. He knew how much he had sacrificed for Faye in this relationship.
—Faye, listen... - P'Wan sighed and stood up. I'll give you a week. That's it. A week to rest, to clear your head. But after that, you have to make it official. I don't care if we drag his name through the mud: your career comes first. I will not let this destroy you.
Faye looked up, stunned by the firmness in P'Wan's voice. She knew her friend was serious and could not afford to ignore the truth any longer. Lux had betrayed her in the worst possible way and now her entire career was at stake.
As P'Wan left the room, Faye sat there alone with her thoughts, while her fingers carelessly turned the ring on her finger. He could not escape the frenzy of the media. His heart was not only hurt by Lux's betrayal, but by the fear of losing everything he had worked so hard to build.
Flashback to the night of the break-up...
Faye was resting in her room, browsing social media while Lux was busy in the studio preparing for her next big project. There was a notification on Faye's phone.
*Message from Anita*
Anita was a fan, one of Faye's many loyal followers. Faye loved to interact with her fans and always took the time to respond. But this message looked different. Something in it made her reflect.
Anita: "Faye, I've been a big fan of yours for years and wasn't sure if I should tell you this... but I saw your girlfriend with another man. Only tell you because I care about you and didn't want this to go public. I thought you should know..."
The message was accompanied by a photo showing Lux in a committed position with a man, wrapped in a passionate hug outside a car. Faye's heart sped up and her hands shook as she threw her phone against the wall in frustration. "This can't be real," she thought. " Lux wouldn't do this to me". But the evidence was there. Her world was destroyed. Faye replied, trying to hold her composure. " How long ago was this picture taken?"
Anita: "Two months ago, in Paris".
Faye's head was spinning and her chest shrunk. He walked through the room with a mind full of questions, but there was only one thing left to do: confront Lux.
