Nine

"Holly" Dr. Fincher, the head of psych stands on the other side of the bed as she looks down at Holly Wheeler the eighteen year old patient who has just escaped captivity. Dr. Fincher has long black hair with brown skin and dark brown eyes, she is in her late forties. Holly has long black hair, dark brown eyes and pale white skin from lack of sunlight. She also has broken bones and many bruises and cuts along her body "I'm a therapist who works for the hospital, is it okay if the police ask you a few questions? Only if you feel up to it?"

She looks towards me and I shrug my shoulders "It's up to you"

She gulps and looks to Dr. Fincher "I..." she nods her head, the police come in and stay a good but close distance to Holly. Not wanting to frighten her.

"Holly" the lead detective asks "do you know the name of the man who was keeping you?"

She looks to me and I place my hand on her shoulder "He won't hurt you, it's okay to say his name"

"Joseph" she gulps, tears well in her eyes "Joseph Ingles"

"That's great" he says "really helpful, now can you tell us anything about where you were living? Was it a house? An apartment?"

"It was a house" she says "one story, it has a basement"

"Do you know if there was any roads nearby?" He asks

"Holly" she looks my way "if this is too much" she nods her head "let's take a break" they all leave but I stay to check on Holly's vitals and since Holly is scared "Holly, I'll be right back but before I go" showing her the nurse's remote call thing "press this button for a nurse and they'll come and if you want me here just say my name. Dr. Serafina Davis. Okay?"

"Okay" she nods her head, placing the remote next to her I leave the room.

"She's bonded to Dr. Davis" Dr. Fincher shook her head "and there's no breaking that bond now"

"What's going on?" I ask

They look my way and Hunt explains "Dr. Fincher things that it's best if you stay with Holly, at least until her parents arrive"

"Why?" I ask

"She's bonded with you" Dr. Fincher explains to me what's happened "and now that she has, you're the only person she trusts. You're the first person who has shown her that she has control over her life in the last twelve years, it's our job now to show her that she does have control. Break that control. Whatever she wants, she gets. Including you, we'll have to work together on this. Now excuse me, the family is waiting for my call"

She leaves us and Derek came over "What do you want Derek?"

"Where have you been going?" He asks "your interviews? I heard you were bribed with Australian Shepherd puppies and"

"Where I go after my residency is none of your concern" going back over to talk to Holly about her parents, she looks my way "Holly? I want you to know that your parents are on their way here"

"My parents?" She repeats

Nodding my head "Yes, I want you to know because there's a chance they'll want to come near you and hug you. Know that it's your decision whether you want to see them or not, I'll tell you when they're here"

When I find John, he's in the resident locker room where Meredith was taking care of the puppies like I asked "Hey babe" he looks my way and we briefly kiss "I see you've met the puppies"

"Yes" he nods his head "what are their names?"

"I haven't decided" sitting down on the bench, John sits down next to me. We each hold a puppy in our arms "how about" I check them to see which one is a boy and which is girl "they're both girls, okay so...why don't I choose the name for this girl and you choose the name for that puppy"
