Sophie: Edaline and Grady had to stay back at the Preserve today, I told them the chapter wasn't going to be as important and I'd let them know if they needed to know anything.
Keefe: What the hell do you mean not important. It's literally ME.
Sophie: I didn't mean it like that! You're very important, I swear.
Tam: Sure
Keefe: Hey-
Marella: ...But where's Dex?
Keefe: His mom made him stay home today I think, because his grades are slipping or something
Biana: Huh. And Ro?
Keefe: ... She told me, quote on quote, "I don't want to spend another second around you talking my ear off about how you're finally in the book."
Tam: *snorts*
Keefe: Whatever. Just because a bunch of people aren't here doesn't mean that this isn't going to be the best chapter yet!
"Sophie—but I'm sure you already know that."
Keefe: *bouncing around the room* I am Here. I am Here. I am Here. I am Here.
Fitz: What's he trying to do? Summon a demon??
Sophie: Wait... demons exist here????
Linh: No?? What's that??
Fitz: Um, well, hypothetically no. But when I was in your world- um-
Sophie: What?
Fitz: It's, uh, a long story. Maybe I'll tell you when there isn't everyone else here?
Keefe: *stops bouncing momentarily* How dare you. I want to know too.
He laughed. "You may be the biggest news to hit the academy since the Great Gulon Incident three years ago—which, by the way, I had nothing to do with." He flashed a slightly wicked smile. "But that's not a bad thing. Personally, I've always enjoyed being the center of attention."
Fitz: Attention seeker
Keefe: Shut up Chandelier Head
Fitz: Says the pick-me
Keefe: Mkay, Wonderboy
Fitz: Okay, that's not even an insult-
Keefe: It is when I glare at you ominously and say it like I'm talking about crap
Linh: *whispers to Marella* Aren't they, like, best friends?
Marella: *whispering back* It's kind of complicated
Sophie: Why do you two act like five year olds
Biana: If only I knew
