The air was thick with tension, and every second felt like it stretched on for an eternity. Kunj stood frozen, his eyes wide as Sid stepped out of the shadows. The warehouse felt suffocating in that moment. Twinkle looked from Kunj to Sid and back again, her mind racing.

Sid. The one name Kunj had tried to bury deep within the recesses of his past. A past he had worked so hard to escape. Yet here he was. Right in front of them.

Sid’s presence wasn’t just unexpected; it was unsettling. Twinkle had heard about him, but she never imagined she would actually meet him under these circumstances. She could see the tension in Kunj's face, the way his body stiffened at the mere sight of Sid.

“Sid...” Twinkle whispered, almost breathless. Her voice barely carried over the thick silence in the room.

Sid’s eyes softened when he looked at Twinkle. But then, in a flash, his expression hardened as he looked at Kunj. “I didn’t expect you to bring her here, Kunj,” Sid said, his voice deep and filled with an emotion Twinkle couldn’t quite place. “But it seems things are much worse than I thought.”

Kunj took a step forward, his fists clenched, his eyes narrowed in anger. “What are you doing here, Sid? I thought you were done with this mess.”

Sid smirked, the corner of his mouth twitching in what looked like both amusement and bitterness. “Done? Oh, Kunj, I never get ‘done’ with anything. You know that. I’m here because I have unfinished business with you. And, well,” he turned to Twinkle, “it seems like she’s part of the equation now.”

Twinkle felt her heart race. “What do you mean by that?” she asked, trying to keep her voice steady, though the fear gnawed at her insides.

Sid chuckled darkly, his eyes gleaming with an unspoken promise. “Don’t play coy, Twinkle. You’ve been part of Kunj’s mess ever since he brought you into his life. Whether you like it or not, you're involved in this. And trust me, you’re not just a bystander.”

Twinkle’s pulse quickened. She turned to Kunj, her mind overwhelmed by the weight of his secrets. “Kunj, what’s happening? Who is he? Why is he threatening us?”

Kunj’s voice was low, barely above a whisper. “He’s my past, Twinkle. Sid and I... we go way back. We were tied to the same... people. The same business. And the reason he’s here is that he’s been looking for me—for years.”

Sid’s laugh echoed through the warehouse, cutting through the tension. “Not just you, Kunj. I’ve been looking for you, and your little world. And now that I’ve found you both, well... let’s just say things are about to get interesting.”

Twinkle took a step back, feeling the weight of the situation settling over her. “What do you want from us?” she asked, her voice shaking. She tried to maintain composure, but inside, she was scared—terrified of what Sid might do.

Sid’s eyes never left Kunj’s. “I want what’s mine,” Sid said, the words chilling in their finality. “Kunj and I have a history, Twinkle. A history you’ll never fully understand. And as much as Kunj wants to act like he’s some big hero now, trying to protect you... I know the truth.”

Twinkle was starting to understand the gravity of the situation, but Kunj’s anger flared up again. “Enough, Sid! You’ve had your fun. You’ve caused enough damage. I’m done with you. Stay out of my life. Stay away from her.”

Sid stepped closer to Kunj, his voice dangerously soft. “You don’t get to make the rules anymore, Kunj. Not when you’ve already broken so many of your own.”

Twinkle couldn’t stand it any longer. “Stop it, both of you! What is this? Why are you two acting like this? This isn’t you—either of you!”

Kunj reached for her, his touch gentle, trying to soothe her anxiety. “Twinkle, I’m so sorry you had to see this side of me. This is a mess I should’ve kept you out of. But now... now you’re too far in.”

Twinkle shook her head, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. “No, Kunj. We’re in this together. Together, remember?” She took his hand, holding it tightly. “You can’t push me away now. I’m not going anywhere.”

Sid watched them with a mixture of disbelief and amusement. “So, what now? You’re going to stand there holding hands like everything’s fine? Like you can outrun your past?”

Kunj’s jaw tightened, but Twinkle spoke before he could say anything. “What exactly do you want, Sid?” she demanded, standing her ground. “You’re not going to scare me, and you’re not going to scare Kunj. Whatever game you’re playing, it’s over.”

Sid laughed again, a harsh, cold sound. “You really think you can talk to me like that, Twinkle? How cute. You’re brave, I’ll give you that. But bravery doesn’t change the fact that your little world is about to come crashing down. Whether you like it or not, you’re a part of this mess. And there’s no getting out.”

Kunj’s patience was wearing thin. He stepped forward, his voice low and controlled. “Sid, I don’t care what you think you’ve got on me. I’m done. Stay out of my life. You don’t control me anymore.”

Sid’s expression darkened, and for a moment, it looked like he might lose his composure. But then, just as quickly, his face returned to its usual smirk. “I’m not going anywhere, Kunj. And neither is your past.”

Twinkle took a deep breath, her mind racing. She needed to understand what was going on. “Kunj, what exactly does Sid mean? What’s this past he’s talking about?”

Kunj looked at her, his eyes softening. “I... I never wanted you to know any of this. But I can’t hide it from you anymore.”

Sid, sensing the tension between them, smirked. “Oh, this is getting interesting now. Let him tell you, Twinkle. Let him tell you about the kind of man he used to be.”

Twinkle looked at Kunj, waiting for the truth.

Kunj took a deep breath, his shoulders slumping. “I wasn’t always the man you know. I wasn’t always this... good. I was involved in things—things that were illegal. Things I never should’ve gotten involved with. Sid and I were partners once. Partners in crime. We worked for the same people, did the same things. And it got out of hand.”

Twinkle felt her heart sink. “But why did you leave that life behind? Why didn’t you tell me?”

Kunj’s eyes were filled with guilt. “Because I knew the moment I got you involved, everything would change. I didn’t want to put you in danger. But now, Sid’s back. And he’s not going to stop until he destroys everything I’ve worked for.”

Sid nodded, as if approving Kunj’s honesty. “Exactly. You can’t outrun your past, Kunj. And now, you’re dragging her into it.”

Twinkle shook her head, her voice firm despite the chaos inside her. “No, Sid. You don’t get to control us. We’re in this together, and I won’t let you destroy what we have.”

Sid smirked, his gaze flicking between the two of them. “We’ll see about that, Twinkle.”
