Scene 1: The Unexpected Reunion
The evening was electric. Both the Sarna and Taneja families had gathered at Kunj’s house for what was supposed to be a casual dinner. Twinkle, wearing a traditional peach-colored saree, walked nervously into the living room, where both families were already present. Kunj, by her side, was trying to keep his cool, but there was an undeniable spark in his eyes as he looked at Twinkle.
"Are you okay?" Kunj whispered to Twinkle.
Twinkle smiled, though she was visibly anxious. "I think so, but you know my parents... they’ll take time to adjust."
Kunj smiled, reassuring her. "Don’t worry. This is the moment we've been waiting for. Everyone knows each other, and they’re all supportive. Let’s just tell them the truth."
The two families were seated, chatting and laughing as if they’d known each other for ages—because they had. Usha Sarna, Kunj's mother, and Leela Taneja, Twinkle's mother, had been best friends since their school days. The bond between the two families had always been strong, and their children were no different. Everyone knew the Sarna and Taneja names, and their children—Twinkle and Kunj—had been playmates, rivals, and eventually, childhood sweethearts.
As Kunj and Twinkle entered the room, all eyes turned to them. Usha and Manohar Sarna, Kunj’s parents, smiled warmly at Twinkle. They were happy to see her, but there was a certain curiosity in the air. Similarly, Leela Taneja looked at her daughter, waiting for her to take the first step in making the announcement.
"Good evening, everyone!" Twinkle said, a bit louder than she intended, as she sat beside her mother.
"We've gathered here tonight," Usha began, "to discuss something important. As you all know, Kunj and Twinkle have been part of each other's lives for as long as we can remember."
"That’s right," Manohar added with a hearty chuckle, “Kunj and Twinkle have fought, teased each other, and have been inseparable since childhood. We’ve always known that they were made for each other, even when they didn’t realize it.”
Kunj smiled at his father’s words, looking lovingly at Twinkle. “Dad’s right. We’ve been through a lot together—good times and bad. But the most important thing is... I love her. I’ve loved her for a long time.”
The room fell silent, the weight of his words sinking in. Twinkle’s heart raced as she looked around at the expectant faces.
Twinkle then turned to her family, especially her mother, who was now looking at her daughter with a soft expression. Leela, although a bit protective, could see how sincere Kunj was. "So... what is it that you both want to say?" she asked, her voice filled with curiosity.
Twinkle took a deep breath. "We want to get married, Mom. We want to take this step with your blessings and love."
Usha looked at Leela and then at Twinkle. "I’ve always considered Twinkle as my own daughter, Leela. She’s part of our family, and we would love nothing more than for her and Kunj to take this next step together."
Leela’s eyes welled up as she looked at Kunj. "Kunj, you’ve grown into a fine young man. But this... this is a huge decision. You both are very young. Are you sure about this?"
Kunj nodded firmly. "Yes, Aunty, I’m sure. I know I’m ready for this, and I can’t imagine my life without Twinkle by my side."
Rishi, Kunj’s younger cousin, who had been eagerly waiting to throw in a joke, leaned forward from the couch. "Bhai, you do realize that once this marriage happens, I’ll have to start calling her ‘Bhabhi,’ right? No more teasing her!"
Everyone laughed, lightening the mood. Simran, who had been silently observing the conversation, added with a smirk, "Rishi, you’ll have to treat her with respect now, but trust me, she’ll make sure you don’t get away with anything."
Twinkle couldn’t help but smile at the banter between Kunj’s cousins. Rishi’s cheeky nature had always been a source of amusement.
But the tension was still there, lingering under the surface. Leela gave her daughter a long, assessing look before finally speaking. "I think... I think it’s time. I see how much you both care about each other. If you’re sure about this, then I’ll support you, Twinkle. But I need to know you’re ready for the responsibility of marriage."
Twinkle looked at her mother, eyes full of sincerity. "I’m ready, Mom. I love Kunj with all my heart. And I know he’s the one I want to spend my life with."
Leela paused for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Then, I give you my blessing."
The room erupted in joy. Kunj and Twinkle stood, unable to contain their smiles. Usha quickly embraced Twinkle. "This is the happiest moment for me," she said, her eyes glistening with tears. "You two belong together."
Kunj pulled Twinkle into a tight hug, his arms wrapping around her. "I promise I’ll always protect you."

Scene 2: The Cousins’ Drama
The atmosphere was lively now. Kunj’s cousins, Simran and Rishi, were already planning how to surprise everyone during the engagement. Simran, though she came across as serious, had a softer side when it came to Kunj and Twinkle. She always wanted the best for them.
"I have an idea," Rishi said, standing up with a mischievous grin. "We’ll have a huge celebration, but I’ll make sure Kunj gets his moment of ‘shock’ when I reveal the surprise. He thinks he can control everything, but let’s show him that we have a few tricks up our sleeves!"
Simran rolled her eyes. "Rishi, you’re impossible. But fine, if it adds to the fun, then let’s do it."
Kunj overheard them and shook his head. "If you two do anything ridiculous at the engagement, I’ll personally make sure it’s the last surprise you ever give me!"
Simran chuckled, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "We’ll see about that, Kunj."
Leela and Usha exchanged amused glances. The cousins’ antics were always a part of the fun. The thought of a big celebration made Twinkle feel giddy inside. She looked at Kunj, who winked at her, and suddenly, all the doubts and fears she had about their future seemed to vanish. With Kunj by her side and the support of both families, she knew everything would be perfect.

Scene 3: The Big Announcement
A few days later, the Sarna and Taneja families met again for the official engagement ceremony. It was a grand affair with decorations, laughter, music, and of course, plenty of food. Twinkle wore a beautiful yellow lehenga, while Kunj was dressed in a classic sherwani. The ceremony was held in Kunj’s backyard, which had been beautifully decorated with flowers, lights, and candles.
As the families came together for the engagement ceremony, Kunj held Twinkle’s hand and pulled her to the center of the room. The cousins were still busy teasing each other, but the parents were all smiles.
Rishi stood up and raised a glass, drawing everyone’s attention. "To the soon-to-be newlyweds!" he said with a wink, making everyone laugh.
Simran added, "May your love grow with every passing day, and may you never stop teasing each other—because that’s what makes love interesting!"
Twinkle couldn’t help but blush. She had never imagined that her life would come to this point, where both families were so accepting and excited for their future. Kunj, standing beside her, was her rock, and she knew that they would face whatever came their way together.
The evening went on with laughter, games, and a lot of dancing. The family drama, as expected, was all good-natured, filled with playful banter and happy moments. Kunj and Twinkle’s love story had finally reached its beautiful turning point, and they couldn’t be happier.
