"Did it go as planned?" Naruto found me on my knees, staring at my own tattered and smudged reflection in the small pond by the park. I nodded, tearing another strip of silk off the helm of my dress.

"Stop that," his hand firmly covered mine, rendering them unable to move. I stopped, and bowed my head, ringlet hair touching the water.

"Shh, baby," he took off his jacket, wrapped it around me and pulled me into his embrace. I sighed, waiting for the heart beats that I feel when Sasuke held me.

Nothing came.

"Is this the right thing to do?" I looked at my fingers, bleeding and caked with mud from when I fell to the ground, clawing the rocks trying to elicit any sort of pain to overtake the hole in my heart.

Naruto was silent. I tried to look up into Naruto's eyes, but I found my world tilting, and Naruto had a doppelganger.

"Ama?"

"Ama?"

"Ama?!"

And my world turned as dark as the pain in my heart.

***

Grey. Blue. No, it's a greyish blue.

My eyes struggled to adapt to...nothing?

Where am I?

It's an empty world, with no light or darkness.

Who is there?"

My fingers reached out for a tiny pixel of yellow, far away. My legs started to run. I was walking, then running, then sprinting.

Yes, the small speck got bigger!

I cried out with no sound, fingers outstretched greedily, trying to capture the blur.

There's someone standing there. A silhouette. Spiky hair, slender frame...

Sasuke!

My legs burned and my lungs gasped for oxygen. But I paid them no heed.

So close, my love. So close.

In desperation, I threw myself into the shadow...

and stared directly into a pair of horrifying, scarlet red eyes.

"Ama!"

with a jolt, my eyes snapped open and I took in a huge breath. Sasuke...no, the man who looks like Sasuke but is not Sasuke had closed his slim fingers around my neck and was tightening his grip with every second.

"Oh, she's awake," a doctor with spiky, white hair walked, smiling pleasantly. A mask covered half his lower face and instead of a clipboard, he held a small orange book.

"I'm doctor Hatake Kakashi, and I see you're awake, Amaterasu," he noted.

"Of course, Kakashi," Naruto yelled, rolling his eyes.

"Anyway, it seems that your...condition has gotten worse and since you said no to chemo, I guess you can only stay in bed for these days," Kakashi's eyebrows furrowed, but I only nodded slightly.

"Thank you. It is time I go anyway," I lifted my lips, but both men knew it was a fake.

"No it's not," Naruto frowned, and it was then I realised that he was touching my knuckles to his lips.

"Naruto, thank you."

"Stop. I am not writing a eulogy for another sixty years."

I laughed darkly.

"Then write it on my sixtieth death anniversary, dobe."

"You sounded like Sasuke so much just then I shuddered," Kakashi spoke up, unable to meet my eyes.

"Naruto, did you..."

"Yes I did," Naruto replied, a determined glint in his eyes.

"May I just say that it was not a good idea," Kakashi added again, this time examining the ceiling.

"Well what else can I do, doc? He will die without me, I know it," I exclaimed, anger seeping into my voice. I stared at the doctor's eye, but after a while I started panting.

"You're going to get weaker every day. I hope you ready yourself for that," with that one last sentence, he walked out and closed the door.

I glanced at the hospital room, and grimaced. The white was too pristine, and the sterile smell made me want to puke.

"Can't I at least live somewhere good before I-"

"Yes!" Naruto yelped, and rushed out of the room.

When I glanced over at the bedside table, I realised that Naruto had left his phone there. I was contemplating whether I should change the password before the phone lighted up with a pleasant ding!

"Naruto, please come! Sasuke just brought a lot of pills and he's now in his locked room, laughing maniacally. "
