I did exactly as Lola said and spent the rest of the afternoon with my dad. I showed him around and explored the different places along with him.
We had a good time until I went home and he returned to his hotel. He's an elderly man so he likes his early nights. I wasn't complaining though, not even in the slightest.
When I got home, I honestly didn't know what to expect when it came to Lola, so I called the only person I knew who could help me make sense of her better.
Jasmine.
She gave me some advice and told me she'd be over. She stayed true to her word and came over about half an hour later, and she brought Charlie with her.
"Are you sure she said she's taking you out?" Charlie asked as he grabbed a beer from my fridge.
"I don't know, she just said we'd be going out today at seven," I replied.
"So it's a date?" Jasmine smirked.
"No, it's not, we're simply just going out," I responded firmly.
"Okay, I want to be the first to apologize for sleeping with you—if I don't I feel like Lola will kill me." She said and pulled a face.
I rolled my eyes at the both of them.
I got changed into different clothes. I didn't know where we were going or what we were gonna do so I decided to go with a safe but comfortable option. An off-the-shoulder cherry red longsleeved top with a pair of flared jeans with a pair of heels on my feet. It was simple and nothing impressive but I didn't know to make a bad impression on the woman who'd just helped me cover up a murder.
None of this was something I wanted to get out of.
I put my hair in a low bun just so that it was out of the way and added a few pieces of jewelry to add a little bit of a touch. Once I was finished, I left my room and saw both Jasmine and Charlie on my couch talking calmly.
"I think you took it upon yourself to make this an actual date." Charlie pointed out.
I narrowed my gaze at him. "I have not–plus this is the furthest thing from that, I just prefer to keep my life. She threatened it too many times for me to not believe it now." I pointed out sternly.
"Sure," Charlie said with a smile as he dragged out the 'e' on sure.
"Charlie, stop it, man," Jasmine said in my defense. "That's like me saying you make an effort every time you go see Alexis," Jasmine said.
"I do make an effort, I mean it's Alexis. If you aren't afraid of her I worry." Charlie pointed out with less of a smile than last time.
I rolled my eyes and turned to face them both. "Whether this is a date or not—it's not—is not up for debate between either of you. I need a break for whatever reason Lola offered to let me have a break." I said harshly startling both of them a little.
