Ellie

Ellie Lane jolted awake, blinking against the bright morning light spilling through the enormous windows above her. Confused, she squinted around the unfamiliar room. This was definitely not her bedroom. Her entire room could practically fit into the enormous bed she was lying on, let alone the Girly, Sleek room surrounding her.

Sitting up, Ellie took in the posters of Sabrina Carpenter that covered the walls, feeling her heart start to race. She was an intense fan of Sabrina, but she didn't remember her room looking anything like a shrine.

The next surprise came when she looked at herself in the mirror across from the bed. She let out a yelp. Blonde waves that were not hers framed her face, and she was wearing pale yellow silk pajamas. She blinked, rubbed her eyes, and looked again. But Sabrina Carpenter's face stared back.

"What the...?"

Before she could even begin to process this impossible scenario, a knock sounded on the door, followed by a muffled, "Sabrina! You've got five minutes to be dressed and ready for the magazine shoot!"

Ellie's mind went blank as her door swung open, revealing a young woman with a clipboard and a no-nonsense look on her face.

"Sabrina, you okay?" she asked, frowning.

"Uh... yeah, totally. Just... one second?" Ellie mumbled, trying to mimic Sabrina's casual tone. Her heart pounded as she fumbled through what she could only imagine was Sabrina's wardrobe, pulling on the first outfit she found that didn't look like it required professional styling.

This had to be a dream, right? But as she was whisked out of the room by the clipboard lady, whose name was apparently Tara, and guided down to what looked like a private car, everything felt too real.

Sabrina

Meanwhile, in a quiet little town Ellie would have called home, Sabrina Carpenter was experiencing an equally disorienting wake-up. She sat up slowly, blinking around at the small, cozy bedroom filled with posters of musicians, thrift-store finds, and...her own face?

Rubbing her eyes, she reached for her phone only to find a cracked, older model sitting on the bedside table instead of her usual sleek one. With a tentative swipe, she unlocked it and stared at the wallpaper, a photo of her, actually, next to a friend Sabrina didn't recognize. Her inbox held no messages from managers, no event reminders, just notifications from school and a group chat called "The Lane Fam."

It was both the strangest and most peaceful morning she'd had in years.

Sabrina tossed the blanket off, her feet landing on a slightly creaky hardwood floor, and looked around. She felt surprisingly... free. She didn't know where she was or how she had gotten there, but there was no paparazzi, no entourage, just a town she didn't recognize and the unmistakable smell of someone making breakfast down the hall.

"Well," she muttered to herself, "this is definitely different."
