chapter 9

-ANYA'S HOUSE- next day- NIGHT

Anya was in the living room with her Mom watching TV. Her phone rings.

"Sorry, It's Rodrick gotta answer." Anya tells her Mom making her nod.

"Hello?" Anya answers getting up and heads to the kitchen.

"SHE KNOWS." Rodrick whispers shouts. "What?" Anya says.

"My mom. She was telling me about the lock on the bathroom door. And now she's going to Greg to ask him!" He whisper shouts.

"Oh no." Anya says. "Maybe he'll stay cool and deny." Anya reassured him.

"Hold on." Rodrick says and from Anya's phone it sounded like he was running up the stairs. She heard a faint 'ow' making her chuckle.

-RODRICK'S 3rd person-

Rodrick holds the phone in his hand still on call with Anya. He opens Greg's door, and looks at him suspiciously.

"You didn't buckle?" Rodrick asks him as Anya listens through the phone. "Deny, deny, deny, right?" Greg tells him.

"You know... You may not be half as lame as I thought you were." Rodrick struggled to say. Greg smiled and Rodrick went away quickly.

Rodrick puts his phone back to his ear hearing Anya laughing. "Stop it." Rodrick tells her.

"No, no this is good. Both of you getting along finally." She says. "You two should go out. Spend time together." She tells him.

"Maybe." He tells her. "Okay well you call me if anything, but I got to go now. Watching a movie with my Mom." Anya tells him.

"Okay, you too. Bye Anya." "Byeee!!"

Rodrick gave in and agreed to what Anya told him. He spent his time with his brother and gave him lessons and ways to get out of chores.

Anya spent her time with her parents and she would go visit her brother's grave to write songs and talk to him.

1 week later... NIGHT
Anya was in her room on her bed watching a movie. Her parents were away on a trip. All of sudden a loud horn catches her attention.

She gets off her bed and looks out her window. She sticks out her head and sees Rodrick in his van with Greg laughing.

"COME ON!" Greg yells out to her. Anya smiles and closes her window. Putting on her shoes and turning off the tv and lights on her way down.

She runs outside and opens the back of the van hoping in. "Sup guys."

"Dude you wouldn't believe what we just did!" Rodrick tells her as he hits the gas.

On their way to the Heffley home. Greg and Rodrick tell Anya their day out and how Coach Malone was chasing them around after a prank they pulled on him.

The three were laughing as they entered the house. Susan sees this and smiles. Anya waved at her and sees they had company over.

"You boys are five minutes early and you guys brought Anya. Did you have a good time?" Susan asks her sons.

"A great time." Greg says as they walk into the living room. "That is so sweet." The lady who is there says.

"I just can't get over how well your boys get along." The man named Larry tells them.

"Well, Larry, we run a pretty tight ship around here." Fred says as he tries to connect the camera to the tv.

"It's all about boundaries, rules. Anyway, let me show you some of those civil War re-renactment photos. I was telling you about." Fred tells him. Anya stays close next to Rodrick.
