chapter 10

Anya spent her time at her house. She wasn't going to let Rodrick words affect her, but they did.

Her Mom walked in looking at her sadly. "Anya? Is everything okay?" She asks sitting on the bed.

Anya looks at her and nodded. "Is it because today marks the 4th year anniversary of Andy?" She says softly mentioning Anya's older brother.

Anya just stayed silent and hugged her Mom. Julia smiled and hugged her daughter. Anya's Dad walks in too joining their hug. "We miss him too kid." Adam, her Dad says.

"We should go visit him." Anya speaks up making them smile.

They spent their time at the cemetery laughing and smiling. They brought Andy's favorite food and gifts.

-Few days later-

Anya was backstage waiting for her turn. Rodrick had ended up preforming. It went well, but only because of his Mom's dance moves.

She was overthinking it all. "Maybe I shouldn't do this." She says quickly only for her parents to turn her back around.

"Ohh no you don't! You're going out there and you're going to sing." Her Dad tells her. Her mom hands her the guitar.

"Give it up for Anya West!" They announced. Susan smiles and tells Frank to record. Rodrick was back in his seat and he looked surprised.

Greg and Rowley looked at each other excited to see and hear Anya.

Anya was pushed into the stage by her parents. Anya had her guitar around her and a drummer and back up guitarist came on stage.

She saw how many people were in the audience and she saw her parents sitting next to Susan and Frank.

She looks at the microphone in front of her. Her mind was racing as the back up guitarist starts playing the beginning.

She sighs and starts to sing into the microphone. "You think you know me
But you don't know me. You think you own me. But you can't control me."

"You look at me and there's just one thing that you see, So listen to me. Listen to meeeeee!"

Anya starts playing her guitar along and sings out loud. She makes eye contact with Rodrick. He looked at her smiling.

"You push me back. I push you back . Harder, harder. You scream at me. I scream at you. Louder, L-L-L-L-Louder!"

"I'm dangerous so I'm warning you
But you're not afraid of me
And I can't convince you
You don't know me."

The crowds gets up once again clapping and dancing. Greg and Rowley were hyping her up jumping up and down hugging each other.

You think you want me
But you don't know what you're getting into."

"There's so much more to me then what you think you see

Just listen to meeeeee!"

Her parents look at their daughter proudly as Frank records and Susan dances.

"I'm dangerous so I'm warning you!
But you're not afraid of me
And I can't convince you."

She ends the song smiling slightly as Rodrick. The whole crowd was cheering and clapping at her performance. Anya smiled at the applause and cheers.

Rodrick goes through the crowd trying to get to the stage. He runs up on stage and hugs her spinning her.

"I'm sorry. Im so sorry." Rodrick repeated over and over into her ear still holding her over all the cheers.

He put her down still holding her. Rodrick looked into her eyes. "Do it again and I'll break your drum set." She warns him making him chuckle.

They smile at each other. Rodrick has enough and kisses her. Susan gasps and starts cheering with Anya's Mom. Both of them jumping up and down. Frank and Adam first bump each other.

Anya melts into the kiss. The crowds goes wild. Greg and Rowley yelling out in victory.
