Rosè's hands gripped the handlebars of his motorcycle confidently, her eyes focused on the winding road ahead. The hum of the engine was steady, blending into the quietness of the countryside as they left the bustling streets behind. I sat close behind her, my arms wrapped loosely around her waist, my gaze lingering on the passing scenery. I had never seen this part of town before, and something about that intrigued and unnerved me, just a bit.

"Where are we going this isn't the route to the beach" I said my voice loud so she could hear me through the gushing wind.

She glanced over her shoulder with a small, teasing smile. "Patience. It’s a surprise."

"Are we there yet?" I asked, raising my voice above the rush of the wind. She didn't reply.

I could only sigh, settling back into the rhythm of the ride as she led us deeper into unknown territory. The road eventually turned into a narrow, unpaved path, framed by tall, dense trees on either side. Sunlight streamed through the branches, casting long shadows that danced with the motion of the bike. The air was filled with the scent of earth and moss, the quiet almost unsettling after the engine stopped as we reached our destination.

She parked the bike by a cluster of trees, the silence of the isolated spot instantly enveloping us. She jumped off and motioned for me to follow.

"Welcome to my little secret," she announced, sweeping her hand toward the open space before us.

The scene was breathtaking. A wide meadow stretched out, framed by towering cliffs on one side and a distant view of the river stream on the other. Wildflowers blanketed the ground in a riot of colors, and the soft murmur of a nearby stream blended with the occasional chirping of birds.

I took it all in but couldn’t shake a strange feeling settling over me. It wasn’t the place itself – it was peaceful, even beautiful. But something about the stillness, the isolation, felt too quiet, too far removed. Something is wrong

"How did you find this place?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

She shrugged, smiling at the scenery as though seeing it through my eyes. "Just a spot I found one day when I needed some peace."

I nodded slowly, glancing back at her with a thoughtful expression. "It’s beautiful, Rosè...but it’s a little eerie too, don’t you think?"

She laughed, shaking her head. "Eerie? It’s just you, me, and the open sky. What’s there to worry about?"

But as we stood there, the weight of the silence pressed on me, and I found myself inching closer to her, feeling a sense of vulnerability I couldn’t quite place. Maybe it's that strange feeling towards her. I felt a familiar urge to protect her, a feeling i ’d carried since we were kids.It had always felt natural to look out for her, to keep her safe, to be the one she could always count on.

As i stood there, watching her laugh under the open sky, a strange feeling crept over me, something that was unsettling in its intensity. It was more than just responsibility – it was something warmer, a pull that left me searching for words i didn’t want to admit. It felt like a silent promise, one I hadn’t quite realized I ’d made.

No. I shook my head, brushing off the thought. This wasn’t anything new. It was just the old, familiar instinct to be there for her, nothing more. I reminded myself that this was simply what i’d always felt the need to protect her, to watch over her. That’s all this was.

Rosè inhaled deeply, closing her eyes as the gentle breeze swept over the field. "Isn’t it calming?" she asked, looking at me with a quiet smile.

I nodded, my gaze drifting over the view, but my mind was caught between my growing sense of unease and the way her presence softened everything around me. "Yeah, it’s… peaceful," I said, sounding a bit distant.
