Andrew held up his hands in a gesture of mock surrender, a playful grin still on his face. "Alright, alright. I'm going."He walked towards the door, but paused and turned back to me, his expression softening. "Thanks for not throwing me under the bed," he said his grin widening.
This guys had some nerve.
I quickly got dressed and hurried downstairs for breakfast. The enticing aroma of freshly made pancakes filled the air, making my stomach growl in anticipation. I entered the kitchen to find mom bustling around, setting the table.
"Morning, sweetie," mom greeted with a warm smile. "Made your favorite—pancakes."I returned the smile, albeit a bit distractedly. "Thanks, Mom. They smell amazing." I grabbed a plate and quickly served myself a modest portion. As I ate, my mind raced with thoughts of the upcoming presentation.
I glanced at the clock and realized I as running late, quickly finishing my breakfast, barely taking the time to savor it. I placed my plate in the sink and grabbed my backpack. "Mom, I gotta go. I'm running late for college."
Mom looked up, slightly concerned. "Are you sure you don't want to eat a bit more? You barely had anything." "I'm fine, Mom," I assured her, planting a quick kiss on her cheek. "Thanks for breakfast. I'll see you later!"
With that, I dashed out the door, my thoughts already shifting to the day ahead. I had a lot on my mind about the presentation I hurried towards my car, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness, wondering what the rest of the day would bring.
________________________________________After a long and tiring day at college, I decided i needed a break and go to the hideaway heaven. I had initially invited Sofia and Revan, they had a date and I didn't wanna join being a third wheel is tiring and i dont get paid enough for that shit. Determined to go anyway, I set off for the peaceful haven.
As I walked along the beach, the sky grew darker with looming storm clouds, signaling an imminent rainstorm. The cool breeze off the ocean felt refreshing after a hectic day. I hugged my arms around myself as I approached Hideaway Heaven, my footsteps sinking slightly into the soft sand.
To my surprise, I spotted Andrew sitting on a large driftwood log, gazing out at the choppy waves. His presence here felt like an unexpected yet welcome coincidence."Andrew?" I called out, drawing closer. He turned, a look of mild surprise on his face that quickly turned into a warm smile. "Hey! Muffin What are you doing here?"
"I should be one asking that" I replied chuckling, glancing up at the darkening sky. "It’s about to rain. Do you want to join me in the hideaway? It’s cozy"Andrew nodded, standing up and grabbing his jacket. "Sounds like all I need after a tiring day, just perfect."
We made our way to the lighthouse, our hideaway heaven Once we reached the top, I fished the keys out of my bag opening the door and gestured Andrew to get it. Once we settled in on the couch I sighed contentedly, the sound of the waves and the distant rumble of thunder creating a soothing atmosphere.
As we sat together, the first drops of rain began to fall, pattering softly against the large window right in front of us.Andrew looked around and then at me and smiled. "Good call on the hideaway. This place is great."
I returned the smile, but my stomach chose that moment to growl loudly, breaking the peaceful silence. I felt my cheeks heat up with embarrassment. "I didn’t realize how hungry I was," I said awkwardly rubbing my hands together. "Do you want to order some food?"
Andrew laughed softly. "Sure, what do you want I'll order"."McDonald's," I said without thinking for a second. Andrew chuckled pulling out his phone to place the order.A short while later, we were cozied up together, sharing a spread of burgers, fries, and sodas. With some random thriller movie Andrew suggested, on the projector. Comfortable, worm, and romantic.
As the rain continued to fall outside, I and Rosè settled into their cozy hideaway, a soft glow from the projector illuminating the small space as we watched a movie. The sound of the waves and the gentle patter of rain created a serene backdrop.I found myself increasingly distracted from the film. Instead, my gaze kept drifting to her, who was sitting beside me, her attention fully absorbed by the screen. Her hair was tied up in a messy bun, a few loose strands framing her face. In the dim light, she looked effortlessly beautiful and natural, her features soft and relaxed.
I admired the way her eyes sparkled with the reflection of the movie, the subtle curve of her smile as she enjoyed a particularly funny scene. There was a peaceful aura about her, one that made me feel at ease and oddly content.Suddenly, I noticed she doing something unusual.
She dipped a French fry into her cup of coke and brought it to her lips. Startled, I blinked and leaned in slightly, curiosity piqued."Did you just dip your fry in coke?" I questioned, unable to hide my surprise.Rosè turned to me, a playful glint in her eyes. "Yeah, I did?" I was still looking perplexed. " It's kinda weird I've never seen anyone do that before. How did you even come up with it?"she shrugged, a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.
"Some random day my fry fell into my cup of coke and I took it out and tried it. I ended up liking it and continued have my frys like this"I chuckled, shaking my head. "I have to admit, that's pretty unique. Do you have any other strange food combos I should know about?"she laughed softly then whispered"Maybe a few. You'll have to stick around to find out."
As the movie played on, Rosè’s attention was caught by a particular scene where a character brandished a unique, shimmering purple knife. Her eyes widened with excitement, and she leaned closer to the screen, captivated by its intricate design."Look at that knife!" she exclaimed, nudging me with her elbow.
"Isn't it cool? I wish I had something like that."I turned to the screen, watching the scene unfold.i glanced back at Rosè, amused by her enthusiasm. "Yeah, it does look pretty awesome,"I agreed. "I didn’t know you were into things like that."
She smiled, her excitement still evident. "If you watch crime documentary for relaxation, isn't it normal to get mesmerized by something so beautiful"i chuckled, shaking my head. "You really are full of surprises, aren’t you?"She laughed, giving my a playful nudge.
"You have no idea. But seriously, imagine having something like that. It would be so cool." My eyes sparkled with amusement. "I’ll keep that in mind. Who knows? Maybe one day you’ll have your own unique purple knife."she grinned, returning her focus to the movie. The rain continued to fall outside, but inside our little hideaway, the atmosphere was warm and filled with a sense of shared discovery and growing connection.
