PROMPT: You and Billy were childhood friends.

The cafeteria was buzzing with the usual chaos of lunch hour. Friends shouted across tables, trays clattered, and laughter echoed off the walls.

But [Y/N] was tucked away at her usual spot near the windows, surrounded by the calmest corner she could find.

It was a sanctuary of sorts, a place to escape the high school noise, where she could read and pick at her lunch in peace.

Lately, though, this refuge had become her only way to avoid the very person who now seemed to be impossible to avoid: Billy Loomis.

Billy had been hovering around her ever since the semester began, like he'd suddenly made it his mission to become her shadow.

In every class they shared, he'd slip into the seat beside her, always with that familiar, lazy smirk, always leaning a little too close as if he were daring her to push him away.

He'd whisper sarcastic comments, tease her about her nervous habits, and throw her perfectly controlled life into disarray.

She wasn't used to being the center of his attention—no one really was, except maybe Sidney—but here he was, acting like she was someone he'd known all his life.

The cafeteria doors swung open, and even though she kept her head down, she sensed him right before he spoke, his familiar drawl interrupting her thoughts.

"Hey there, wallflower."

Her heart did a strange flip. She didn't even need to look up to recognize the voice; it was burned into her brain by now.

Slowly, she glanced up, and there he was, looming over her table with that infuriating, knowing smirk.

His dark eyes glittered with some private amusement, and he looked every bit the devil-may-care, with his leather jacket slung over one shoulder and a mop of dark hair falling into his eyes.

"Hi, Billy," she murmured, looking down at her tray and fighting the warmth creeping up her neck.

She wished he'd just go away, but he dropped his jacket onto the seat and slid in across from her, ignoring the pointed looks from people around them.

"Aw, don't sound so thrilled to see me." His smirk grew wider, amusement sparking in his gaze as he made himself comfortable. "Am I really that bad of company?"

She let out a small sigh and forced herself to meet his eyes, mustering every ounce of courage she had. "Don't you have friends to sit with?"

"Maybe I prefer hanging out with you," he replied smoothly, his gaze softening just enough to make her stomach flutter.

He tilted his head, studying her reaction as if cataloging every subtle shift in her expression. His charm was effortless, and she couldn't tell if he meant it or if he just enjoyed watching her squirm.

Before she could respond, the rest of the gang showed up, each of them glancing between the two with curious eyes.

Tatum, Sidney, Stu, and Randy all plopped down around the table, Stu giving Billy a knowing look as he took the seat next to [Y/N].
