chapter thirteen : cat

on the way out of furin high school's gates, you bumped into the first years party.

"oh, hii!" you greeted excitedly, the lollipop in your mouth hanging on for dear life. "nirei-kun! suo-kun! othello-kunnn!" you hugged them all briefly, then stopped at sakura. "aaahhh! you're so cute when you're blushing! anyway, how are you doing, grade cap?"

at your embrace and compliment, sakura's face exploded in flames and he skedaddled away to hide behind suo and nirei. "s-stop randomly hugging me!!" he yelled.

"awwe, but i can't help it! you're so adorable and squishable like a marshmallow. i just wanna cuddle you and make you mine forever and ever!" you said, making the boy even more flustered. you could feel enomoto and kaji's grossed-out stare piercing through your head.

"for your previous question, i'm doing okay...i guess."

"really? i'm so happy for you!" you replied, throwing laser beams of happiness at him. "i can already see that you rely on your vice captains, even though it's just a little bit. i'm so impressed with your character develo—OH MY GOD!!!"

you rushed to kakiuchi's side, startling him. "OH. MY. GOD. THEY'RE SO FUCKING CUTE WHAT THE FUCK!!!" you screamed, crouching down to get on eye level with his two pomeranian puppies. "AAAAAAAAAA!! THEY'RE SO FLUFFY!"

"o-oh, hey, l/n-senpai! yeah," he said, "this one's mochi and this one's puff." he pointed to each dog, telling you their names.

"their names are even cuterrr!! oh my god, can i touch them?!" you asked with sparkly hearts in your eyes as you looked up at him.

"of course!"

you cautiously but excitedly reached your hand out to them, and then one licked your finger. "ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod!!!" you whisper-screamed.

"woah, puff likes you!" kakiuchi said, smiling at the cute interaction. he crouched down beside you, still holding the two leashes.

"this one's puff? holy shit, he's so cute," you said, contentedly patting puff's fluffy white head of fur. "is he the younger sibling?"

"actually, they're twins," he explained. "but puff is actually older by like, twenty-something seconds."

"they're twins! oh my god, they're so cute!" you then stood up abruptly, turning to face kakiuchi properly. "kakiuchi-kun. if i marry you, can i take care of these precious puppy children?"

it got a reaction out of everyone, most were surprised and some were envious. kaji looked up from his phone.

"h-huh?! well, i-i guess..?" kakiuchi stuttered, confused but had a slight blush on his face.

you got down on one knee, then fished for something in your pocket. "kakiuchi yuri, the owner of my dreams, will you please marry me?!" you asked, holding up a small f/c scrunchie.

everyone was taken aback. "hUH?!" "huh?!" "huuuhhhhh?!"

"it's getting late, we should go." suddenly kaji was beside you, holding your arm with one hand and his phone in the other. "and fix your skirt."

"huh? w-wait, kakiuchi-kun still hasn't answered me yet!!" you protested as he dragged you up and patted down your skirt.

kakiuchi, meanwhile, had fainted. several of his classmates gathered around his body, checking if he was okay. he was not.

"tell kakiuchi-kun to text me! i wanna go to his house!!" you yelled to his classmates when kaji pulled you away.

"yeah, we better go now," enomoto added. "this town isn't gonna patrol itself."
