You smile. For once someone who didn't try to bring you down because of that belief—satisfied with his reply you soon turn and allow your gaze to focus upon the outside world where rain still poured from the crying heavens—you allowed yourself to watch as each drop found there spot on the ground before eventually turning to the clock to check the time...

It was 10 PM—time flew by pretty quickly and neither of you had noticed it.

"Ah, shit—have you eaten dinner? If you haven't I can cook." You asked with a sweet gleeful smile making it hard for him to refuse the kind offer.

"You don't have to do—"

His words would be interrupted by the sound of a loud rumbling which presumably came from his stomach that cried out for food. This became the reason for a smile to come find its way upon your lips while you looked at him with complete amusement.

"I'm cooking noodles give me a few minutes"

With a bit of shuffling you got up and stretched, setting down whatever book you were reading earlier, and heading into the kitchen to start cooking for your special guest.

Honestly.. you got a bit carried away—you ended up with cooked noodles topped with boiled eggs sliced in half and fried rice with a mix of leftover veggies from last night—but hey, it's two of you eating soooo.. not bad.

—-----------—

Cooking took about thirty minutes of your time. Once you had properly plated everything and set it onto a tray you headed back into the living room where your guest sat waiting on the couch.

You set the food down onto the table and gave him a plate—allowing him to serve however much he felt like eating—and as you both sat in a comfortable silence enjoying the heartfelt meal you cooked: your eyes couldn't help but wander towards him from time-to-time.

He seemed to enjoy your cooking: eyes focused on the food as he savored every spoonful he took and ate in satisfaction. That was all you needed to see to know that you didn't fail cooking for someone... again.

—-----------—

After the two of you ate, both of you had broken into a little bickering as to who would clean up the dishes—and after a good while of back-and-forth it eventually ended up with him cleaning the messy plates while you sat on the kitchen counter talking to him about random ideas or sceneries or interests.

Once everything was squeaky clean the two of you retreated back into the living room where you both sat in a comfortable silence content with just the gentle sound of flipping pages.

Sooner or later you were pushing the coffee table that sat in the middle of the room to the said and grabbed a big blanket: once you set it down on the floor, you laid on top of it and got comfy while continuing your reading.

He told you about fifteen times to sit on the couch or at least lay on the couch—but you just found sitting on the floor more comfy when it came to reading. So in the end he sighed and gave up, allowing you to lay on the floor—blanket.

—-----------—

It was probably around two or three AM when you started to slowly feel the exhaustion of the day catch up to you as your eyes were starting to flutter close asking for you to drift to sleep—no matter how much you wanted to go back upstairs to your room: the floor was a pretty comfortable spot that lulled you into a cozy sleep.

The last thing you felt was a warm soft piece of cloth gently draped onto you like a blanket while your head rested in the book you were reading.

Then.. you fell asleep—The sweetness of each dream keeping you peacefully rested for the night.
