As the final signatures were penned and the day's main business at MSBY drew to a close, Yachi felt a mix of relief and exhilaration wash over her. The building that had once seemed imposing and unfamiliar in the morning now felt different-more approachable, even inviting. The echoes of thudding volleyballs and the sharp calls of the coaches, once overwhelming, now felt like a familiar background chorus, their rhythms carrying stories of dedication and victory.

Kuroo, who had stood by her side for most of the day, watched the players and staff begin to scatter. His expression softened as he took in the room, the hint of a smile lingering on his lips. The day had been long and packed with meetings, discussions, and even unexpected moments of tension, but there was a satisfaction in the way things had unfolded.

"Ready for dinner?" Kuroo's voice, touched with a hint of weariness, reached her ears. Though he looked as composed as ever, she could see a trace of exhaustion at the corners of his eyes. Yet, there was something else there too-something softer and familiar. His gaze met hers, and for a brief moment, she felt an unspoken question pass between them, as if he were checking in to make sure she was truly okay after the whirlwind of the day.

Before Yachi could answer, the memory of earlier that afternoon surfaced.

Amidst the day's discussions, when they had paused for a brief coffee break, Bokuto had appeared like a gust of wind, practically bursting into the room with his usual infectious energy.

"Kuroo!" Bokuto had called out, waving a hand even though he was only a few feet away. His eyes, wide and full of excitement, darted between Kuroo and Yachi. "You guys are joining for dinner later, right? Hinata and I were talking, and it wouldn't be the same without you." His voice held that blend of insistence and hope that was impossible to refuse.

Yachi nodded, the weight of the day pressing down on her shoulders even as a surge of anticipation for the evening lightened it. "Yes, definitely. It's been a long day, but productive," she said, her smile genuine but tinged with the tiredness they both shared.

Around them, the gym was coming alive in a different way. The players who had spent the day practicing and preparing were now shifting into post-practice routines-some stretching, others joking around or chatting as they began to head out. The atmosphere, still charged with the energy of elite athletes, had an undercurrent of ease now that the day's main work was done.

Hinata bounded over, as if he hadn't spent the last several hours giving his all on the court. His grin was as bright as ever, his eyes sparkling with a mix of excitement and fatigue. "Yachi! Are you heading out soon?" he asked, his voice loud enough to catch the attention of a few nearby teammates.

Yachi's smile widened at the sight of him, his boundless energy a reassuring constant amidst all the newness of the day. "Yes, but before we leave, there's dinner with you and Bokuto, right?" she said, her voice lifting with the thought of food and familiar company.

Hinata laughed, his enthusiasm contagious. "Bokuto's so excited, he wouldn't stop talking about it! I think he's been hyping up this dinner for the past hour," he said, rolling his eyes playfully.

Kuroo raised an eyebrow and pushed off from the wall he had been leaning on, crossing his arms with mock disbelief. "Bokuto hyping up a dinner? Shocking," he said, sarcasm lacing his voice, though the affection behind it was evident. The comment earned a chuckle from Hinata, and Yachi couldn't help but laugh too.

The mention of Bokuto reminded Yachi of the bustling energy he always brought, a wave of warmth mixed with a little bit of chaos. It was easy to picture him now, probably leaning forward in his chair and talking animatedly to his partner about how tonight was going to be the highlight of the week. The thought brought a smile to her lips and sent a wave of anticipation through her.
