The week had unfolded in a blend of busy moments and quiet anticipation, each day bringing a subtle buzz that thrummed beneath Yachi's skin. Work consumed her attention, but between drafting designs and answering emails, thoughts of Kuroo slipped into her mind unbidden. Their dynamic had changed, evolving from shy exchanges and unspoken understandings into something more defined, more real. The memory of his smile, the warmth in his eyes whenever they caught hers-it was all there, lingering in her thoughts and making her pulse quicken.

But today was different. Today marked a shift from fleeting touches and unspoken words to something deliberate, something that felt like the first step into uncharted territory. It was their first official date, and the anticipation left Yachi feeling both nervous and exhilarated.

When the doorbell rang, Yachi's heart skipped a beat, the sound slicing through the quiet anticipation that had settled over her.

She stood in front of the mirror, smoothing the delicate fabric of her dress one last time, fingers fluttering nervously over the soft material. Her hair fell in gentle waves around her face, framing the blush that had already started to rise on her cheeks. She took a steadying breath, trying to calm the rapid thrum of her heartbeat before crossing the room to open the door.

When she did, the sight before her was enough to make her breath catch. Kuroo stood on the other side, leaning casually against the doorframe as if he'd been waiting there forever. His crisp black shirt, sleeves rolled up to his elbows, accentuated his lean frame, and dark jeans completed the effortless look that only he seemed to pull off so well. But it wasn't just the way he looked that had her momentarily frozen-it was the bouquet of pink tulips in his hands. The blooms were fresh and vivid, a striking contrast to the dusk settling behind him.

"For you," he said, his voice carrying a note of confidence softened by something more tender. His grin, playful and familiar, curved at the edges as he held the bouquet out to her, but the slight crinkle in his eyes gave away his own anticipation.

Yachi's chest tightened, warmth spreading from the center of her being outward, tingling along her skin. She reached out with careful hands, as if the flowers were something fragile. The fragrance hit her senses immediately, a mix of sweet and earthy that made her feel lightheaded. "They're beautiful," she whispered, looking down at the intricate arrangement before lifting her gaze back to his, a smile playing at her lips. "Thank you, Kuroo."

"Anytime," he said, a hint of a smirk lingering even as his eyes softened. He seemed to take a moment to look at her, as if memorizing the way the glow from the hallway lights caught in her hair and lit up her eyes. "Ready to go?" he asked, the words gentle, almost hesitant, as though he were afraid of breaking the spell that had settled between them.

She nodded, placing the bouquet in a small vase on the small table by the door, where it sat like a bright promise of the night ahead. "Just let me grab my bag." She moved quickly, slipping the strap over her shoulder before turning back to him. The cool evening air brushed against her skin as she stepped outside, closing the door behind her.

The street was peaceful, bathed in the warm glow of streetlights that cast long, stretching shadows across the pavement. The hum of distant traffic and the occasional rustle of leaves were the only sounds to break the quiet. For a moment, it felt as though they were in their own world, just the two of them standing under the darkening sky.

Kuroo walked a step closer, extending his arm in a casual offer, and Yachi took it, surprised at how natural it felt. His arm was warm, the fabric of his shirt soft under her touch. She glanced up at him, catching the slight quirk of his brow, the way his eyes glimmered with something playful yet steady.
