Mahi and Dinesh settled into their room to unpack. They had to meet everyone at the pool area for a welcome party with cocktails.

Mahi, in his usual impeccable suit, looked every inch the CEO, his presence magnetic. Dinesh, effortlessly stylish in a smart-casual outfit, stood beside him, his calm demeanor a perfect contrast to Mahi's more dynamic energy.

The evening was filled with laughter, clinking glasses, and the sound of soft music playing in the background.

The scene felt almost perfect—until Mahi froze, his gaze locking with someone unexpected across the pool.

Dinesh, who had been standing next to his boyfriend, followed his gaze and immediately saw the source of his attention.

A tall, striking woman with dark hair and an air of confidence was walking toward them.

She wore a low-cut, tight-fitting dress that barely covered her curves. Her movements were purposeful as she made her way through the crowd, her eyes already on Mahi.

Mahi's face hardened for just a second as his gaze was still focused on the woman approaching.

"That's Sneha," Mahi muttered, barely audible above the music. "My ex."

Dinesh didn't need to ask for any more details. He had heard about Sneha—the one who Mahi had dated before, the one who had betrayed him, the drug dealer.

Dinesh felt a surge of protectiveness. He knew that Mahi had long since moved on from Sneha, but that didn't stop a knot from forming in his stomach. Something about the way Mahi's ex was now approaching them made Dinesh uneasy.

As Sneha approached, her eyes locked with Mahi's, a small smile curving on her lips. Dinesh could feel the heat rising in his chest as she neared, though he kept his expression carefully neutral.

"Well, well, well," Sneha said, her voice dripping with sweetness, "Mahi, always a pleasure." She looked him up and down in a way that made Dinesh's fists clench involuntarily.

Mahi smiled coldly "Sneha. I didn't expect to run into you here."

Sneha's eyes briefly flicked to Dinesh as if sizing him up. "I see you've moved on," she said, her voice smooth, almost dripping with meaning.

Dinesh gave a polite but firm handshake, his smile tight. "Dinesh. PR head."

"PR head?" Sneha repeated, her tone dripping with mockery.

Dinesh could feel the possessiveness creeping up again. He didn't like the way Sneha was looking at Mahi or the casual way she spoke to him. She was all too familiar, all too comfortable, in a way that unsettled him.

Sneha leaned in slightly, her gaze never leaving Mahi's. "You always were a little difficult to forget, Mahi. If only you had given me a second chance after all people make mistakes."

Dinesh's grip tightened around his drink. It was clear that Sneha had no intention of letting things go. She was making her move, trying to get under his skin.

Mahi, however, didn't give her the satisfaction of reacting. He gave her a tight-lipped smile. "I don't think that's necessary, Sneha. We've both moved on."

But Sneha, not one to take no for an answer, took a small step closer to Mahi, her fingers lightly grazing his arm. "We both know we never really got closure, Mahi. And if you ever want to talk." She trailed off, eyes glinting mischievously, "you know where to find me."

Dinesh had had enough. His patience snapped like a taut wire. He stepped forward, a bit too quickly, grabbing Mahi's arm with a firm grip.

"Let's go," Dinesh said, his voice edged with irritation.
