CHAPTER-14

. Cliff's Pov.

I didn't get a good sleep in my penthouse so I returned to my mansion around 9 am. I  took my morning tea and comforted myself in a couch and there came the devil without any prior notice, it wouldn't be very hard to know that I am talking about, Sky that man don't have a life He stated "dude why am I feeling so off, like something wrong is gonna happen like I'm feeling pretty pretty pretty weird I can sense some troubles. I jerked him off saying "Sky don't you think you're becoming pretty over dramatic and petty nowadays". He squirked his eyes and said this is a scientific reaction called as "Voila effect" he started singing some annoying music and disturbed me he hardly settled after being scold tons of time by me. Actually  people won't trust but now I believe Sky can really sense trouble cause ten minute later we got a call from the secretary that Voila Ashbourne wants to meet us.  I took a breath and asked Sky to bring her in and from that moment I couldn't focus my open laptop wasn't tempting enough to draw my attention on it. As she walked in my heart started filling with hesitation, My stomach did a summer salt I don't know she's here to ignite an actual trouble or what. But as I've always told you that she's unpredictable here she proved me wrong she had came for an heartfelt conversation and trust me for whole time I was holding back my feelings I felt very nice that Sky got a chance to spill his heart out but my side of story is still unsaid.  I want to drag her to a corner, keep her hand over my heart and tell her to listen, to feel what this heart beholds.  I have carried a facade of being a sigma male but I just want her to know the real person behind it. And now I believe that these two annoying kids are like brother and sister for real cause they both are troublemakers but now they hold a precious place in my life.
I forcefully fed her breakfast while I enjoyed the muffins she brought and I wanna mark it down that she's a great cook. She left after warning that she'll be meeting me the next afternoon and from that moment I was only waiting for the next afternoon.
The next morning I got up earlier than usual or it could be said that I was not able to sleep properly that night.

Sky was being lazy today but I had thousand reason to go early today so I just forcefully dragged him to the office, although he was unwilling, but he always follows my command. As we reached the office, everyone was looking at us quiet astound cause it never happens that we're so early. We come on our own time cause we are the boss here.

After we settled in the office the amount of time I've looked at my phone just to know when is she coming is unhealthy. My eyes are waiting to get a glimpse of her. Sky attended a call and muttered a "Yeah Sure". When I focused on him he told "the receptionist called to tell that Evy is here" I gave him a look so he added "Maybe Via is following behind" Evy entered the cabin and gave us her hello hii's I asked her "where's Via" She told "She isn't well she's having bad cramps but she wanted this paper procedure quick so she sent me here, I have to submit these papers to the lawyer" Sky said "I'll come with you" It was my time to roll the dice and I said I'll go look after Via then. Evy grinned Realllyy!! I didn't wanted to learn her alone. I smiled at her "Sure diavolo ((demon)).
I buyed some chocolates and candies according to Evy's prescription and rang Voila's doorbell Aunty Lizzy answered saying "Mam won't appreciate meeting anyone now" I requested her telling Evy has sent me as I was about to climb the staircase aunty spoke "it's not my place to say but our madam looks tough but she's very fragile please don't break her" I didn't knew her context but I nodded and walked to Voila's room and saw her snuggled to the bed holding giant bear in her arms as if his warmth will ease her pain I called her once but she did not respond may be she's lost so I walked over to her and said "Hey!! Voila she was taken a back for a moment and when she realized that it's me she said "Oh!! hello I didn't noticed you " I told her that's alright I gave her  the chocolate and ice cream I have brought for her she took them happily and started diving into it. She appreciated my presence saying "Now I'm feeling much better"we had an hour long conversation with she explaining how she has spent her childhood enjoying whatever she likes to do wherever she liked to go and however she wants to live. I told her that I invested most of my time in learning new skills and in preparing myself to handle our worldwide buisness, but I didn't tell her that aside this I was asked to learn to use guns, to kill people and be a heir to the 'Italian Mafia' she told me about here favourite memory and she said she wasn't prepared to tell me the worst one, I wish I could just erase it. I told her that I don't have a favourite memory yet and I don't want to discuss the worst one and that is my favourite part about her that she never extends a conversation that should end, she never drags a topic. She suddenly asked me "what do you want next in your life". I told her that I have to flip an unturned page of my life. I asked her the same and she replied "I want to grow my company along with completing my Caffe, I want to witness Evy establishing her own fashion brand and then I want to have a family with stable man" the thought of her having a family with someone and if that someone isn't me haunts me. I asked her if she has someone in her mind she answered "yes I do have but that someone doesn't appreciate me" what she said sounded like she's implying me and that made me scared what if she falls for me, if yes, then it's a very wrong time and now I don't have time to increase my weaknesses for enemies. I confronted her "are you talking about me" and she playfully said "maybe" and that minute my mind stopped working.
If she's serious then its horrible because I'mnt prepared for her being a part of my life, and if she's joking that means she has someone in her mind and that's even dangerous for me cause now I have my eyes on her, and nobody takes what's mine. But now the safest move is keeping her away, the distant she'll be the safer she'll be. So I got up and said "beautiful if you have your pretty eyes on me then you need to shut them, cause people don't pick me, they're picked by me, and I haven't chosen you yet and I doubt if I'll ever do. She tried to say "You are miss interpreting Cliff I like you as a frie...n...d" I cut her "I knew you were like other rich girls you must need a money producing tree with you, so am I the target Voila Ashbourne? Atleast have some class, some dignity what's that fire for, is it money?? Oh please you should atleast consider your fathers reputation".

It seems like that fucking sentence was a arrow to her, she's actually fragile but fierce at the same time she pushed me away and said "what makes you think that I even like you Tsk! Tsk! not a bit Mr. Everhart" I husked near her ear "The feeling is mutual Via" she retorted "Be professional Mr. Everhart, don't call me that, I was tolerating you just because of Sky, he's a nice human, I took your tantrums because I fucking respect your father, I adjusted cause Evy likes Sky but now it's done if you think I am a business deal let's get it done that way I am ready".

Now it was my turn to feel the pain she says that her hatred is bigger than anything and I saw it now, I knew she has high ego but seeing myself being the victim of it is hurtful. Although she has told me that she has left people in her life for the sake of her happiness but me being left is what I am scared of. She looked at me with hurt in her eyes and I realised I've committed a mistake, I want this woman but now I have to win her I guess. "Start avoiding Caffeine Via, that's making you temperamental" She replied "No thanks for the advice Mr. Everhart, I suggest you to kindly leave" I completed "Sure! You don't follow me" she said "I won't" and I left.
I did what Aunty Lizzy told me not to, nothing new I'm never obedient but I think now I'm in Voila's hitlist, she don't know how powerful she is, her eyes have sparks and the day she'll recognise her stregnht she'll ruin me first and I'm ready for my hardships.
As I came down to the hall I saw a cute kids picture hung over there and it has name kind of scribbled I joined letters they read Voila. My! Holy! Mother Earth! She's looking so recognisesble as if she's a memory, a fade but obvious one. Although I have met her father ones but I've confirmed with my father that I haven't met her before. People say the earth is round but If these things fall in a square I'll be done for sure, get it signed the trouble is awaiting.
