Camden
We're all crammed in Caden's basement, our own little sanctuary. It's kind of a mess, random blankets thrown over the couches, empty soda cans piling up on the coffee table, the soft hum of the arcade machines in the corner. But it's ours. It's our hangout spot, the place we always come back to. It's where some of the best memories are made.
I'm curled up on the leather couch, Sofia nestled against me with her head on my shoulder, and honestly, I don't think I could be happier. The warmth of her body against mine, her fingers lazily tracing circles on my arm... it's like every worry, every doubt, just fades away when I'm with her.
Across from us, Noah and Sabrina are locked in a heated game of Uno. Noah keeps insisting that Sabrina's cheating, which is hilarious because I know he's just a sore loser. I chuckle, unable to resist throwing in a comment. "Noah, face it. You're just terrible at Uno."
He glares at me, but there's a playful glint in his eyes. "Oh, shut up, Camden." he says, flipping me off without missing a beat.
I laugh, squeezing Sofia's hand a little tighter, and she giggles softly next to me. Moments like these make everything worth it. It's silly and chaotic, but that's exactly why I love it.
In the corner, Caden and Sage are playing darts, though it's pretty much a one-sided match. Caden keeps whining about how unfair it is that Sage is winning, which only makes her laugh harder.
"Sage, I swear, you're cheating!" he grumbles, staring at the dartboard in disbelief.
"Oh, please." Sage replies with a smirk. "Maybe you're just not as good as you think you are, Caden."
Caden huffs, crossing his arms, and I can't help but shake my head. It's always the same dynamic between those two, and honestly, it never gets old.
Max, meanwhile, is sprawled out on the other couch, totally engrossed in a football game playing on the giant flat-screen TV. He's so focused that I'm pretty sure an earthquake wouldn't pull him out of the game.
I take a deep breath, letting my gaze wander around the room, taking in every little detail. The laughter, the teasing, the warmth... it all just feels so right. These are my people. My friends. The ones who've stuck by me through thick and thin, the ones who know me better than anyone else. They're dorks, every single one of them, but they're my dorks.
Then my gaze lands on Sofia, the love of my life, and everything else fades into the background. She looks up at me, her eyes warm and filled with that quiet understanding that only she has. It's like she knows exactly what I'm thinking, like she can read every little thought in my head without me having to say a word.
I smile at her, reaching up to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She leans into my touch, her eyes soft, and I can feel my heart pounding in my chest. I'm so lucky to have her, to be loved by her. She's my anchor, my home, my everything.
In this moment, surrounded by my friends, with Sofia in my arms, I feel a deep sense of contentment wash over me. It's the kind of happiness that's hard to put into words, the kind that fills every corner of your soul and makes you feel like you're exactly where you're meant to be.
This is my life, chaotic, messy, loud, and beautiful. And I wouldn't trade it for anything.
