last night was the best night of my life
i went to otra vancouver
holy fuck
this is what happened
my friends and i (dayna, sarah, jenna) got to BC place (stadium) at 4:30 pm. we had to jump out of a mini van and run through traffic to get there.
then we saw that there was an outdoor merch stand that didn't have a long line so we went there and got shirts.
we headed to gate B because dayna, jenna, and i had to get our vip tickets. sarah was getting her ticket for free from a friend but it wasn't vip. when we got our tickets they gave us a vip bag. it was a black drawstring bag with the boys on it and it said "on the road again 2015". inside there was a shirt that could easily be a dress on me and a pORTABLE PHONE CHARGER. it was so handy cause my phone was at like 6% and it had the boys on it so i was in love (still am).
after we got those a big group of girls started screaming and running so we ran with them only to see a black car pulling into the venue with some crew members in it.
so then we hung around and waited for our friend to give sarah her ticket. when she finally got her ticket (20 mins after the doors opened) we went in and holy fuck i was so pumped.
sarah parted ways from us and dayna, jenna, and i all went down to the floor and to our seats. and they were amazing. we were in section B6 which is right against the catwalk and in the middle of it.
i got some cotton candy and we chilled in our seats a bit, watching the commercials and music videos on the big screens and just talking. we met these girls who were right behind us who were really cool but i don't even know their names.
at 7:00 icona pop came on. their music was so loud and cruel that the girl behind me gave me earplugs, thank god for her. so we endured the opening act until 8:00, and when they left we still had to wait until 8:30 for one direction to come on.
at this point i was just bouncing in my seat i was so freaking excited. i didn't really know what to do with myself.
at exactly 8:30 everyone in the stadium was watching the stage. the big screens had designs on them and the music stopped. we were all waiting for the lights to dim and the opening video to come on. we waited, and we waited.
and at 8:34 music came on. uptown funk. and one direction was not in sight.
once we realized that they weren't coming, my friends and i stood up and started dancing, and other people around us were too. at one point the wave was going around for at least five minutes straight.
by 8:50 we were really impatient. they were 20 minutes late and we were all anxious to see them.
five minutes later the lights dimmed and everyone screamed at the top of their lungs and stood up. the opening video came on and at this point i was at the brink of tears, i was just so excited.
when the first chords of clouds were played and one direction walked out. i cried, a lot. it was so surreal to actually see them in person. i couldn't believe how lucky i was, i still can't. and their singing is so good live, fucking perfect. and they were all so hot oml.
when liam came down the catwalk and stopped right in front of me, i honestly started shaking. it was amazing wow.
their chats with us were the best, with rapper niall and van city chick and singing happy birthday and everything in between.
and when liam read the sign that said "niall has more tattoos than naughty boy has fans" i couldn't stop laughing, and neither could they. and their laughs are beautiful, more beautiful than me (and i'm gorgeous lol).
the set list was amazing. i loved where do broken hearts go and no control and steal my girl and alive was oml and you & i made me cry (i was holding onto jenna for a majority of it) and 18 was magical and during don't forget where you belong we did the fan project. so in the back we had everyone hold up red pieces of paper but some people had white ones and when they held them up there was 1D in white and then the sides had their flashlights on their phones on and on the floor we each had a piece of paper that said we missed you and had a heart shaped Canadian flag in the middle. but i loved act my age the most cause i remember when i first heard that song and i told jenna "if we ever see this live, i want to see niall do an Irish jig when they sing this, and hE DID. AND LIAM. AND HARRY (just a bit). my wishes finally came true.
when the concert was over i couldn't talk right cause i lost most of my voice and my feet hurt from jumping around but i was just so happy that i didn't care. even though the concert was over i wasn't sad that it's over, i was happy that it happened.
and right now i don't have post concert depression and i'm still the happiest girl in the world because i have that whole experience in my memories (and my camera roll).
july 17th 2015 was the best night of my life, and i would never trade it for anything.
