After cooling off, Katerina slips back into the room, unnoticed by everyone as the argument between Tony and Steve continues. Katerina watches as Tony turns to leave the room, but is blocked by Steve.
"You're not going alone!" Steve exclaims.
"You gonna stop me?" Tony asks in the already annoying egotistical tone of his.
"Put on the suit, let's find out" Steve replies menacingly.
"I'm not afraid to hit an old man" Tony replies with a smirk.
"Put on the suit" Steve demands.
Katerina watches as Bruce looks at the monitor tracking down the Tesseract and go pale in the face and murmur a soft "Oh my god..." before an explosion occurs and she, Natasha and Bruce are thrown into the lower equipment room, where Katerina's head hits a pipe hard and her vision fades to black.
After a moment, Katerina awakens and groans softly, her eyes fluttering open and immediately scanning her surroundings. She spots Natasha laying a few meters away, alert but with a leg trapped under a large metal pipe, whilst Bruce grips the floor hard, his skin slowly turning green.
As Katerina's hearing begins to return and the buzzing in her ears fades, she catches the last part of an exchange between Natasha and the Hulking-out Bruce.
"... will get you out of this, you will walk away and never..." Katerina catches Natasha saying.
"Your life?" Bruce asks in a changed voice, a growl appearing in his usually timid voice as he continues to transform.
"Bruce..." Natasha pleads before struggling against the pipe trapping her leg and whispering "Kat? Kat, can you hear me?"
Katerina responds with a soft groan before Natasha whispers again, watching the shaking and continuing to turn green form of Bruce "Kat, you need to get up. Please"
After a second, Katerina tries to stand whilst Natasha finally manages to pull herself free of the pipe. Both watch in alarm as Bruce's transformation finishes and the monstrous face of the Hulk turns to face them before the beast lets out a loud roar. Natasha pulls Katerina to her feet, wrapping an arm over Natasha's shoulder before both of them begin to run, leaping up a set of stairs as the Hulk destroys it behind them. The pair of spies runs through the maze of catwalk, slipping through and under the catwalks in the hope of escaping the rampaging beast.
After crawling for a few moments, the duo hear a series of thuds that make the entire room vibrate. Natasha pulls out a gun and shoots at a pipe, causing liquid nitrogen pipe to burst, the sudden stream of nitrogen hitting the Hulk in the face, which it immediately smashes. Both spies start to run again, reaching a long corridor which they sprint along, the Hulk tearing up everything behind them. Both turn to look at the wreckage and are slapped by the Hulk, going flying into a wall, where they lay, stunned and terrified as the Hulk approaches. As the Hulk lifts its fist, it is suddenly knocked off its feet and sent flying as Thor hits it with his hammer, Mjollnir. The spies stay still, panting for breath and examining themselves for injuries.
After a moment, the silence is broken by Natasha, who tentatively whispers "Kat? You okay?"
Katerina groans, having done a brief self-examination and finding no broken bones, just a fair few bruises and a pounding headache. Natasha crawls over and wipes away a trickle of blood that Katerina hadn't even noticed from her hairline.
"I'm always cleaning you up" Natasha murmurs with a smirk.
Katerina sits up and grunts "Shut up, Romanoff. I'm not the one that managed to get shot by the most elusive assassin in the world"
