Katerina sits in the passenger seat of the black Corvette Stingray as Natasha drives towards the Washington Monument to pick up Steve for a mission. She looks out the window at the traffic, rolling her eyes at all the normal cars compared to the luxury sports car she's riding in.
"Are you sure we had to take this and not one of the normal cars?" she questions, turning to focus on Natasha.
"Where's the fun in being normal and, besides, we need to be fast" Natasha responds, briefly taking her eyes off the road to look at Katerina "Fury has a mission for us with STRIKE team Alpha, something about a ship being held hostage"
"Sounds interesting" Katerina remarks, turning back to face outside the window as the car reaches the monument and stops beside the curb, in sight of Steve and another man dressed in running clothes, drenched in sweat but laughing with Steve. As the two men notice the car, Natasha rolls down the window beside Katerina and leans forward slightly to address the men.
"Hey, fellas. Either one of you know where the Smithsonian is? I'm here to pick up a fossil" she quips, causing Katerina to smirk and Steve roll his eyes.
"That's hilarious" he remarks dryly, walking over to the car but noticing it to be a two-seater.
"Don't worry, I have a lift" Katerina reassures him, stepping out and allowing him into the passenger seat "I just hitched one to get here"
As she walks away to grab her black Kawasaki Zx6r parked not too far away, she looks back and feels a hint of an emotion that feels unfamiliar to her which she believes to be jealousy as she spots Steve's companion flirting with Natasha. Before any of the three can spot her glancing back, she rushes over to her Kawasaki and start it up before hopping on and driving away.

As Katerina finishes checking her equipment, she focuses in on the words of Agent Brock Rumlow, leader of STRIKE team Alpha and the leader of the mission as the quinjet containing her, Natasha, Steve and the STRIKE team flies over the Indian ocean.
"The target is a mobile satellite launch platform: the Lemurian Star. They were sending up their last payload when pirates took them, ninety-three minutes ago" he addresses.
"Any demands?" Steve questions, also paying attention to Rumlow's words.
"A billion and a half" Rumlow replies flatly.
"Why so steep?" Steve asks.
"Because it's SHIELD's" Rumlow says in the same flat tone.
"So it's not off-course, it's trespassing" Steve replies questioningly.
"I'm sure they have good reason" Natasha says, finally speaking up after the long journey.
"You know, I'm getting a little tired of being Fury's janitor" Steve replies.
"Relax, it's not that complicated" she says calmly, just as used to missions like this as almost all the other agents inside the quinjet.
"How many pirates?" Steve asks, ever the curious and rookie agent.
"Twenty-five, top mercs, led by this guy. Georges Batroc" he says, showing a photo of Batroc on the monitor, causing Katerina to raise an eyebrow before her continues "Ex-DGSE, Action Division. He's at the top of Interpol's Red Notice. Before the French demobilized him, he had thirty-six kill missions. This guy's got a rep for maximum casualties"
