Sitting in one of the tables at the corner, Mirae glanced at the middle-aged man at the counter busy cooking, with his wife beside him. She looked at him with adoration remembering how he used to prepare her favourite seaweed soup. The last time he prepared it for her was the day before her mom divorced him. Yes, he was her dad, Yoon Jisung.

She didn't know where he was until he started a chicken shop just a few yards away from her school. She was in high school at that time. The shop got famous among students for its affordable tasty chicken which led Mirae and Yeonsu to visit it one day, after school. That's when she saw him after years. But he was married, and had a little boy with them. Yes, she has a younger brother – Minho, she knew as they call him that, who was a high schooler now. Mirae was not jealous; she was in fact happy to see her father living a happy life. Woo Young, the woman he married was a sweet lady, unlike her mother. Though she recognized her father, she never ever took a step to confront him. She was afraid how he would react, what if his family doesn't know about her or even worse what if he hates you. She became a regular customer there just to see him. She never let them know she was Yoon Mirae, the daughter of Lee Mi Seon. Not even Yeonsu knew it's Mirae's father until a few years ago.She didn't want her mom to find out about him in any way.

It's been two hours already since she has been sitting there, not touching the chicken nuggets she ordered. She'll have to go back to your home now. Mirae stood from the chair taking the food with her to the counter.

"Ajhussi, can you please pack this for me?" She asked him which made him turn towards her.

"Was there any problem with the nuggets? You didn't even touch them." He asked, confused looking at her.

"No, it's tasty. Just that I lost my appetite. I'll have it later." She assured him there was nothing wrong with the food he prepared.

"Mina ssi, you regularly visit here but we never got the chance to know you." Woo Young said. Yes, she lied about her name, the last time they asked her.

"Well, I'm Park Mina, 26 years old. I'm from Seoul itself, currently working as an attorney for Taesan." She replied, smiling at them, a part of her guilt for lying.

"Oh Taesan! That's great!" said her father. She knew he had a good relation with Mr. Jeon, that he willingly came forward on his own as Jisung's lawyer for the divorce.

She took the parcel which Woo Young packed: bidding goodbye to them she sat in her car and drove off to her residence.

"She's Mirae's age" Jisung said with pain visible in his eyes. Woo Young gently caressed her husband's back to ease his worries.

"Don't you think you should meet Mirae?" She asked him to which he said "I am sure she hates me now" he said with his teary eyes. The last thing he could see was hatred for him in his daughter's eyes.

"I don't think so. You deserve to meet your daughter" she said.

"I'm scared for her. What if Mi Seon gets to know about us? It won't bring any good to us nor Mirae" he said before leaving the counter leaving his wife to look at him with concern.

Reaching back home, Mirae headed to her bedroom upstairs and plunged on the bed facing the ceiling. She started to think of everything that happened today, from the morning date to visiting her father. That's when her phone rang with a notification. Taking the phone from her handbag, she opened it to check the message. It was from Tae. She was more than shocked as she opened the chat. It was a photo of his wrist, wearing the brand new Breguet Classique which she just gifted him this morning. She waited to see what he was typing. In a few seconds came the text "Thank you so much! I love it 😊" She blinked a few times and read the text a few more times to make sure she was reading it right. She kept the phone aside sending a smiley, since she didn't know what she's supposed to say for this. It was the first time he sent such a message, not her fault though. Her mind was a mess now, she wanted to clear her mind off to focus on the upcoming trial.

---------------------------------

Mirae was totally occupied with the trials going on, so was Jungmin. Two hearings were already over and the duo has done really well at the court exposing Mr. Kwon, CEO of Len Technologies who falsely accused his cousin's firm - Aster Telecommunications for personal data leaking. Mirae still had two more hearings to appear for the next week. The employees in the office have already started shipping her and Jungmin with each other as the power couple. They had their reasons too. First, they noticed that the only woman he was seen comfortable around with was her, second they both were similar in many ways, third they both looked really good together. Mr. Jeon could walk now, and he used to visit the office every now and then.
