"How about this?" Yeonsu asked enthusiastically, holding a white lace wedding gown with full sleeves to her best friend.
"Hmm that neck is too deep" Mirae said and turned to the other section of gowns.
"So what? It's your wedding."
"Exactly! I don't want to wear that on my wedding day. Plus, it's the only thing I get to decide for my wedding, so let me put my heart out for this." she said and gave her friend a tight smile. Yeonsu approached her and wrapped her arms around Mirae's shoulders giving it a squeeze, pain visible in her eyes.
"I can't believe you're getting married."
"Me neither" Mirae said, mocking herself.
"You know what, I really wanted to enjoy your wedding but I can't even smile genuinely knowing you're not ready for this." Yeonsu said as she put her head on Mirae's shoulder.
"Even I wanted to get married happily with someone who would love me and let me love him. Now I don't even know who I'm gonna marry!"
"What do you mean by you don't know? It's Tae only."
Mirae shook her head as a no. "I don't think we'll get married. I'm sure of this getting cancelled in a few days. And you know what's the best part? If it's not Tae, my mom will definitely come up with someone else and I'll have to marry him. I don't even know for whom I'll wear this gown."
Mirae completed with a small smile but was held in a tight embrace by Yeonsu. She wanted to cry. But she could never cry in front of people even if she wanted to. More like her tears were introverted, they came out only when alone and she hated it. She always wished she could cry and express her emotions with the ones close to her.
Mirae was hugging her back while she got a call. With an apologetic expression she looked at her before saying "It was boss. She needs me in an hour" Yeonsu works in the PR department of BE Entertainments. Mirae knows Yeonsu is always flooded with work that makes it nearly impossible for both of them to hangout like before. But still she makes sure her best friend is not left alone via texts. She was happy to have Yeonsu by her side, as a best friend and a sister.
"You should leave then. Don't worry I'll be fine" Mirae said, assuring her but Yeonsu was hesitant to leave her alone to select a wedding dress. "Hey, it's okay you must go now. It's not like I'm all excited to buy any of this damn dress. I'll just get any of these" she said, pushing the other towards the shop's exit.
"I'm sorry Mirae. I know I'm a bad friend"
"Oh really! Then promise I'll be your maid of honour as a compensation for being a bad friend"
"Who do you think it will be in the first place? If it's not you then I won't even get married!!" she said with a pout on her lips which caused the other to laugh.
"Hyungsik would hate me if he heard this" Mirae said laughing. Hyungsik and Yeonsu had been dating since high school graduation. He was Jungkook's best friend and Yeonsu's frenemy. Like any other high school enemies to lovers' stories, they didn't realise they were more than friends until they graduated and missed each other like hell. Mirae still remembers the day Yeonsu took him to her university just to share the news of them being a couple to Mirae. Hyungsik is a good friend to Mirae as well. She was happy for them. He's now CEO of his father's tech company.
"I'll call you in the evening" she said and left after giving Mirae a tight hug. She smiled looking at Yeonsu's retreating figure and went back inside the shop.
